The three acre property is covered with lush vegetation and has numerous areas to sit back and relax, watch the boats pass by and the sun rise AND set, or...swim off the dock or do yoga in a garden terrace. Perfect for couples, families or groups of friends, this is a truly unique place.
Accessible only by boat to our private dock or a 15 minute walk via foot path from Santa Cruz or Jaibalito, this 1000 square foot (100 square meter) apartment is the lower level of a duplex home, surrounded by 3 acres of terraced gardens.
The uniquely designed space has a bright and airy floor plan, with 2 built-in king-sized beds (plus a single), a fireplace, a lounge area which doubles as additional sleeping space (best for kids), a fully-equipped kitchen, a full bath featuring a two-person soaking tub, a dining area, and a 10 meter-long patio with a day bed, hammock and sitting area. Of course, all rooms have spectacular views of the lake and the majestic volcanoes for which Atitlan is known.
Experience the beauty and serenity of the lake from a vantage point unmatched by any other waterfront property on the north shore. This is a place for those seeking amazing views, lake access, nice hikes (short or long), and tranquility.
*The apartment can sleep 7-8 people but please note that we recommend no more than 5 adults and 2-3 children sleeping in the apartment.
**The walk up from our private dock may shorten your breath, but the view will take it away! This is a location for able-bodied guests who don't mind more than a few stairs but, trust us, it's worth it (if you don't believe us, just read the reviews)!
You will have access to the communal gardens and terraces scattered throughout the property, and to our private dock which is great for sunbathing, swimming or catching one of the public shuttle boats which pass by every 15 minutes.
Chris and Erynne, your hosts, live in the upstairs apartment with their 3-year-old son and will be happy to answer all of your questions and give advice on things to do, see and eat.
As we do live upstairs, we ask that guests keep noise down after 10pm.
The apartment can sleep up to 7 or 8 people, but we recommend not more than 5 adults, sleeping in the raised beds. The extra mattresses in the "lounge" work well for 2-3 children. A pack-n-play style crib is also available.
The property has steep drops so small children should not wander the grounds unattended.
There are two large but friendly dogs that roam the property and three other dogs on the property that are generally confined (and quiet).
Check-in 3pm; check-out 11am. Earlier or later check-in/check-out times may be possible upon request.
Quiet time after 10pm; no visitors after 10pm.
No smoking indoors, please.
Absolutely no parties.
We prepare the apartment for the number of guests reserved. If you show up with additional guests without our pre-approval, we have the right to deny their stay. If approved, there will be an additional charge of $20 per extra person, per night.
