My house is in Kirkwall, close to many great activities on offer in Orkney. It's a 2 bedroom semi-detached house with a south facing garden. It's a 5 minute walk from the centre of Kirkwall. It is a prefect spot to explore, including Skara Brae, the Ring of Brodgar, Maes Howe, the Italian Chapel, the Brough of Birsay, Yesnaby, St Magnus Cathedral, Scapa and Highland Park Distilleries and plenty of other favourite sites!
Hi, my name is Ailsa and I'm lucky enough to live in beautiful Orkney. I'm from a wee village in the Highlands called Newtonmore, and truly love Scotland!
I lived in Edinburgh before moving to Orkney in October 2016 for work.
I love meeting new people and hosting people. It is a wonderful experience for me as I get to hear other people's perspectives, stories and passion of visiting Scotland, often for the first time. I hope that I can provide a clean cosy, friendly, polite and welcoming base to sleep, rest and recuperate.
I have an endless list of things I like to do in my free time, but in general I would describe myself as nature lover/ 'green' minded, sporty, adventurous, music lover, outdoorsy, creative and health fanatic. I also really enjoy being creative and doing practical hands on things.
My day job is working for a charity on community renewable energy projects looking at energy storage, smart grids, hydrogen and wind turbines. I am based in Kirkwall, but our projects in Orkney support Eday, Shapinsay and Rousay.
I'm a bit of a free spirit that is in love with everything that life has to offer. What could be more beautiful that to give thanks for all of these blessings and share precious moments with others
