My place is close to Doi Saket town which has convenience stores, banks, large local market, district hospital, clinics, local restaurants and shopping. It is typical of rural Thailand. It is 15 minutes from the cultural shopping district of Bor Sang and 20 minutes from major shopping malls. .
I am the manager of this little resort with 9 rooms. You can enjoy the sights and sounds of rural Thailand just as it captivated me 6 years ago when I moved here. The Thai people living around here are warm and friendly with no negative views towards people with other religions or other life preferences. Chiang Mai is very safe with very low crime. Things are relatively inexpensive in the small town of Doi Saket. Free bicycles are available for guests who want to cycle to town where they can take a bus to Chiang Mai city center 21 kilometers away. It costs only 18 baht and it will take about 35 minutes. A bus leaves every 15 minutes and operates from 6 am to 7 pm. Guests can leave the bicycles in Doi Saket and cycle back when they get back. Most of the largest shopping Malls are 20 minutes away including the cultural center Bor Sang. I speak fluent English and will be able to help you decide what to do if it is your first time in Chiang Mai, the second largest city in Thailand. The are many different tours you can go on including trips to Chiang Rai and the Golden Triangle, Doi Inthanon (highest peak in Thailand), waterfalls, elephant camps, extreme sports and very beautiful botanic gardens. A fantastic attraction for children is the Day and Night Safari. For the adventurous there are the zip lines and bungy jumping.
