Room will be available from 16 Sep through 21 Sep to Hurricane Irma victims ONLY. If you were displaced by Hurricane Irma, and can prove it, send me a private message. I got my power back on 14 Sep and am making my home available at cost for those affected by the storm. My yard is a complete mess, but the house is in perfect shape.
- Please turn the upstairs air conditioner OFF when you leave the house.
- Smoking outside only.
- Laundry is available, but please take care of your laundry as soon as possible so it's available for other uses.
- Children MUST be supervised by an adult at the pool.
- Please take your shoes off when you are indoors.
- Pool hours are 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
- No housekeeping service is provided for bookings less than 7 days. Towels and linens are provided and extras are in the hallway closet.
- Owner is not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illnesses that occur at the property. Owner is not responsible for a guest's lost belongings or valuables.
-If you cook, you must clean up after yourself immediately. Please do not leave dirty dishes in the sink or on the counter. Dirty dishes can be placed in the dishwasher. I run the dishwasher regularly, so I will take care of putting the dishes back in the cabinets once they're clean.
-Please turn the oven vent on when using the stove top. (The Air Conditioner returns are located directly beside the kitchen and will distribute kitchen odors throughout the house otherwise.)
-Please, no cooking during quiet hours (10:00PM to 7:00AM on weekdays, 11:00PM to 10:00AM on weekends.)
-Please try to limit the amount of food left on the counters. Florida has notorious ant problems that I'd like to keep under control. Food can be stored inside the refrigerator.
-Do not leave uneaten food in the bedrooms. Please use the refrigerator.
I'm a pretty fun guy who gets along with just about anybody and am generally comfortable in most situations. I'm a conservationist, marine biologist, and am working towards improving our world's energy paradigm. I spent a good amount of time in my early career at sea doing oceanographic research. I'm neat. I'm trying to be as ambitious as I used to be. I get along with all people from all backgrounds. I've lived on Long Island, New York; Galveston, TX; Honolulu, HI; spent the majority of my life in rural Indiana, and now call southwest Florida my home.
I have over 10 years of experience hosting guests and traveling, both domestically and internationally, using a similar platform: Couchsurfing. So, although I’m new to Airbnb, I’ve been involved with a similar organization for quite some time and understand the necessary provisions required when away from the comfort of one’s home.
My best friend, and fellow world traveler, described me recently as a "complete adventurer." I scuba dive, hike, fly airplanes, and can drive just about anything with wheels, so I felt his description was pretty accurate. I've been blessed with opportunities to experience this world from many different perspectives, at times by venturing off traditional paths, and the freedom it has provided has been remarkable. Hopefully, there is more to come!
