Retreat in my nature-inspired vintage apartment in an ideal location between Logan Square and Bucktown/ Wicker Park. 10 minute walk to the blue CTA line for convienent transit downtown, 15 minute walk to popular Wicker Park and Logan Square bars and restaurants. Enjoy retreat-like amenities to nourish yourself for a long or short stay.
I generally live in the apartment but travel regularly for work, so the place is well loved and cared for. I use one of the bedrooms as a dining area and work space but the room is also great for guests since the couch converts to a comfortable single bed, which means 3 people can stay comfortably.
Guests can enjoy an extensive tea and coffee collection, my handmade bath salts and oils for a soak, homemade bitters for cocktails, and other retreat-like goodies.
Guests get easy access to the apartment through a key box.
I usually rent when I am out of town, but my dear friend across the street or wonderful upstairs neighbors take care of on-site needs. You can reach out to me with apartment related questions or neighborhood recommendations, which I am always thrilled to provide.
The building is old and charming. If you like modern, hotel-like experiences- this is not the place for you. If you like the sweetness of vintage enamel, mid-century modern furnishings, and a classic, eclectic feel- the place will be bliss for you.
I'm from Chicago. I love seeing new places from a bike or kayak, and like finding magic in strange places. I'm a theater artist rooted primarily in the reproductive justice movement, which means I travel around the country regularly for work. I write and direct participatory plays for an Illinois non-profit to open the door to conversations about sexual health and sexual violence. I see the home space as a site for revolution and retreat and love to share mine.
