This is a really nice home located walking distance to all the museums in the area, Plaza Mayor (where you go for wi-fi connection), restaurants and tour guides. Manuel (Amiss's father-in-law) is the main contact person upon arrival to the property. He will check you in, give you a map, advice on things to do, cook your meals (and he is really good at this), etc. He spoke to my daughter and I largely in Spanish and that was fine because we got to practice (we know key phrases and words but were able to communicate with Manuel very well). The family was home and visible at the time we were there, but it didn't feel weird at all. One bit of advice: turn off your AC before you leave the room because if you don't, the lady of the house will. I found out because to my surprise, she entered the room unannounced when she thought we had left for the day to turn it off. She said she heard it from the upstairs terrace. This is something they should remind guests of at check-in, because that moment did feel intrusive.
This casa has been the best one we have been to in our month in Cuba. The food was delicious and I appreciated all the help the whole family provided. They were always happy to answer questions and help you the best they can. We enjoyed it so much we stayed 7 nights instead of 3! The location of the house is great, very close to everything, yet our room was very quiet as it didn't give directly on the street. The terrace is beautiful and everything is clean, comfortable and looks great. I would highly recommend it!
