As other reviews mentioned the place isn't in the town centre but on the outskirts. It takes like 15 - 20 minutes to get to the airport or town so be aware that if you plan shopping everyday you'd spend a bit of money on tricycle. If on the other hand you want to swim, relax in a beach it's a great place. I'd suggest getting swimming shoes as parts of the beach bag for stones. Staff is very friendly, helpful and easy to chat with on many topics if you pop out to reception. Sophia (the resident cat) is so nice to hang out with.
J'e place is amazing. You will be Just in an unspoiled lagoon sorrounded by magrooves and silence (which is a super plus coming from the awful Manila). You will stay in kubos. Which are bungalows for us Europeans. So do not expect a five star hotel. But bungalows in the middle of nature. Which was exactly what we were looking for. And you can enjoy high and low tide in the lagoon, the Milky Way by night and absolute peace. The staff is simply GREAT. I would recommend this place to those who (like us) are looking for something natural and far from the crowd. And don't worry for daily activities: the staff will organize everything you want to do. Just enjoy it!
Where do I begin! First, I was already in Puerto Princesa when I made this reservation (as my family was not happy with our accommodations at the time). J replied swiftly and I was able to book/transfer to Emerald Plaza in less than 3 hours. If you want the "true" Philippine experience, i.e. away from the hustle and bustle of the city, staying in a bahay kubo (bamboo hut), fresh fruit/food, beachside living while still having AC, Wifi and hot water, this is the place for you. The staff is amazing! Darius, helped us with everything and I mean everything. Every question we asked was answered promptly, any request was granted within reason. He helped us arrange transportation from our hotel and to the airport, around the city, everything! If we needed towels, or something in our room fixed/cleaned, they were all on top of it! I cannot stress how hospitable and welcoming everyone was. Their restaurant is also fairly priced and the food is tasty. Our breakfast was made-to-order every morning and after our second night, staff would ask us what we wanted for breakfast the next day and as soon as we were seated in the gazebo/dining area, our breakfast was served! Although they are beach front, the beach is really a lagoon with mangroves. So there's a lot of seaweed/grass/leaves. But to make up for that, the water is as hot as a hot spring! It's very shallow with no current or tide, so it's very safe and secluded. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who's looking for a budgeted, all-inclusive stay in Puerto Princesa. The only "negative" is it's distance from the mall/downtown area. So you will have to take their tricycle or car. If it was within walking distance, it would be easier/cheaper to explore outside (hence why I categorize this place as all-inclusive). All in all, I'd recommend Emerald Playa, for sure! Thanks again, J and Staff for all your help, kindness and amazing hospitality!
Emerald Playa is far enough for privacy and relaxation and close enough to enjoy the comforts of the city. The staff are very polite and accommodating and were conversant enough to tell us stories and useful trivia about Palawan. They even helped us rent a motorcycle so we can enjoy the city by ourselves. The place is beautiful and it was definitely a plus to have the beach to ourselves. <3 we had a wonderful stay at Emerald Playa and would definitely recommend it to anyone.
I reached out somewhat apprehensive since this was my first airbnb stay, my group was fairly large (10 people), there were no previous reviews and we booked very last minute. The staff was very responsive and answered all my questions quickly and accurately. We could not have planned a better visit. Airport transfers was provided for all of us and ALL our luggage. The staff greeted with ice tea that was fantastic and were sooo helpful and hospitable. This place is like a home away from home Palawan style. No frills no thrills just genuine kindness and comfort at a great value. Highly recommend if you're looking for a clean, safe, friendly, home like environment and a great value. You can't beat the price. It was hard to leave the staff after our visit and the small community of people that stay there longer term. A+ all the way around!
