My Guest House, flanked by aromatic tea gardens and deep lovely woods, is a perfect getaway for those seeking quietude, a change of pace and lungful of refreshing mountain air. Its serene and scenic locales are sure to rejuvenate you and even inspire compositions, particularly, out of those with creative inclinations in music, painting, writing, poetry and photography. Gurung’s is a quiet and peaceful haven and we offer gracious hospitality and comfortable lodgings to our guests.
Tinchuley is a remote hamlet located 25 kms from Darjeeling and it is an emerging tourist destination of this region. We the inhabitants of this quiet settlement have taken an initiative for establishing our locality as a model organic village. With the aid of organizations such as WWF, the village has developed home stays and modern farming including floriculture, vermiculture and other organic projects, to develop the concept of Sustainable Village tourism. The property is conveniently located amidst the browns, greens and blues of massive boulders, hillocks and the open sky. The house is spacious and ideal for groups and families. It is tastefully designed and maintained and this helps it radiate the kind of millennia old charm since 2001 which has made Tinchuley – a paradise of sorts among travelers far and wide. The lodge hosts eight well appointed rooms, two deluxe rooms and two super deluxe cabins with all the basic comforts one could expect. The rooms are exceptionally clean and furnished, with acrylic wooden interiors to give you the warmth in this relatively cold place. There are a total of twelve rooms in the house, four are double bedded, the other four are standard four bedded each. These eight rooms are in the main building and it provides a good view to the hillside from the balcony and bedroom. There are two luxurious deluxe rooms with gorgeous décor adjoined to the main building. And one separate super deluxe room which is marvelous and beautifully architecture. All the bedrooms have clean and tiled ensuite bathroom. We provide individual room bookings too but entire bookings are preferred. Food and meals: Bed-tea to dinner is provided at an extra charge of Rs.650 per person per day. This includes Morning tea, Breakfast, Lunch, Evening tea and Dinner. These charges are waived off for children below 5 years of age sharing accommodation with their parents. And 50% charges waived off for children between 5 to 10 years of age. Locally we do have a reputation for serving one of the best foods. The informal cuisine serves up a delectable variety of local dishes to serve even the most discerning palate. But finally it is the gracious; unobtrusive hospitality that only a home run lodge can offer that truly sets this place apart. We provide the following services at an extra charge: x Vehicle pick up and drop x Bonfire –on request x Short treks in the forest and tea gardens x Taxi services on advanced booking for local sight-seeing around the area.

The special care, attention and warmth that characterize the hospitality of my family can only be experienced firsthand to know how much this scores over the lavish decors, room service and other luxuries that typify regular hotels and resorts.
