Cozy 1 Bedroom Close To NYC
Clean and comfortable place, everything my I needed for a month. Occasionally a bit noisy depending on who was staying in the other apartments. The neighborhood is fine--it's a working-class neighborhood in Newark, looks a little rougher than it is. No good grocery stores in walking distance, small drawback.
For our first time visiting New York, it was fine! A little bit of a rough neighborhood, but we didn't have any issues. There was no cable and the TV was in the living room rather than the room, but we weren't in the home much. It was perfect for the price. The bed was super comfortable, there were extra sheets and a nice dresser. Would definitely recommend to someone who is just needing a place to sleep and unwind. Check in was easy and fast as well :)
The neighborhood wasnt what I expected based on the pictures. A little rougher. There were overgrown grass on the main Street and neighboring houses. Older neighborhood. The apartment itself is clean. Basic amenities were provided which was nice (paper towel, toilet paper, dish soap, plates,..You get the idea) There is no stove but I think there is a cook top, The fridge is huge and CLEAN. The place is small, a queen bed, a single foldout couch and a folding cot/bed. It will fit 3 maybe 4 adults ok. The tenants in the apartment building were friendly. A few dogs in the building but they were not a nuisance. The parking in back is a bonus. It's a first come first served basis, but we were able to manage to squeeze in and find parking every night. NYC is about 20-30min by car, depending on the time of day, could be longer. 90min to Philly. Accessible to local restaurants, markets and gas stations. Overall, the place served its purpose for us.. a place to sleep. Self check-in. Eric, our apt contact checked in with us by message on our first night, which was fine.. it's a decent place if you're not looking for anything fancy.
