Our home is set in the village of Arrimal in the National Park of the Serras de Aire e Candeeiros. It is just 20m from an excellent Pizzaria and Grill restaurant and bar which is open from early in the morning until late at night every day except Thursday and has free WiFi access. The house, driveway and garden are enclosed within walls and gated for security and privacy. The double bedroom has an ensuite shower room and there is also a large family bathroom. The house is all on one level with a large open plan lounge/dining room with wood burning fire, TV, a selection of board games and books. There is a fully fitted kitchen with a fridge/freezer, oven, hob, dishwasher and breakfast table. In the garden there are sun loungers, a large table and benches for outdoor dining (with a sunsail available for the hotter months) a BBQ and sink and food preparation area, a 8m x 4m pool (not deep enough for diving) and a large garage. Within the garage we have a washing machine, iron and ironing board and many garden games.
Guests will have access to the whole house with the exception of one room which will be locked for our personal possessions.
We will be available for contact via email whilst guests are in our home but as we are in the UK we will not be available personally. Our house is cared for by the owners of the Pizzaria (Norpizza opposite our house) and Norberto and Clarinda will be on hand to assist with any requirements. They are Portuguese and also speak German and (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) translate helps too along with a Portuguese/English dictionary we keep in the house!
The village is a traditional Portuguese working farming community with few tourists, the people are extremely friendly and welcoming. Guests will need a car to get to the local towns of either Porto de Mos or Alcobaca for shopping, supermarkets, butchers, bakeries, markets etc.
