Thank you so much Rob! You were a best host for my in laws! A review from Ann-Maree "The castle had been a special place where my family attended mass in the 60's when it was owned by the catholic church and used as a novitiate. So my kids booked me an overnighter as a suprise for my 60th. Host Ron was in on the suprise and invited the family to join us for breakfast in the morning. Due to the flooding in timaru they couldnt get through so we will be returning in the summer to show my kids and grandkids a little bit of history. The castle was just as i remembered it. The room was huge and warm. The bed perfect. Ron whipped up dinner and did an amazing full breakfast. Wonderful time!"
Rob was one of the kindest and most gracious hosts we've met - he went the extra mile to make our stay memorable, offering us use of his huge kitchen and the many amenities in the castle. He even prepared a small snack bag for us the morning we left knowing that we had a long drive ahead! The property itself is tucked away out of town, charming and well-kept, with lots to explore. We loved the little tour Rob gave us and the stories he shared. about the castle. The room was fantastic with lots of space, and well equipped too. We thoroughly enjoyed our interaction with Rob and another couple we met who were staying there as well. Truly a unique stay experience that I would highly encourage and recommend!
Staying at Castle Claremont is a unique experience. The house is one of kind - a 19th century mansion, modernised in the bedrooms and with period furnishings elsewhere and manicured grounds to explore. Rob is a friendly, engaging, knowledgeable and generous host. A good variety and quantity of food is offered for breakfast. We will remember our time at Castle Claremont as a standout experience to be treasured.
