Our Zen-inspired cabin is a mountain biking, skiing, hiking, and trail running nirvana! Lake Tahoe, Heavenly and Kirkwood ski areas, Echo Lake, Desolation Wilderness, the Tahoe Rim Trail are all nearby. It's a ten minute drive to Lake Tahoe, just far enough away to escape the crowds but close enough to fully enjoy all its beauty. Our cabin is newly remodeled and inspired by our love for mountain culture and the Sierra Nevada. A perfect retreat for couples, solo adventurers, and families.
Three Trees cabin offers 1,000 square feet of living space. It has one regular bedroom and a spectacular loft bedroom with six skylights. The kitchen and bathroom are brand new and feature all the latest appliances, including a dishwasher. There is a washer/dryer. The bathroom has a shower but no tub.
The large loft bedroom has a queen size bed. The downstairs bedroom has a double bed. There is also a very comfortable sleeper couch in the living room. We recommend four guests at the cabin, but in some situations we will allow six.

There is hiking, biking, snow shoeing, and Nordic skiing very near the house. You can walk a few minutes to a trail along the South Upper Truckee River. Some of the best mountain biking trails in the world (no exaggeration) begin just a few miles away.
Did we mention that we love our cabin?! We have put a great deal of love and sweat into this place to make it very special. It is our refuge and retreat center, and we hope you will find it as calming to the mind and body as we do.
Thank you for your interest!
You may use the whole cabin. There is no parking in the garage but you may store skis and bikes there.
Winter Use: During winter months we can get a lot of snow. Four-wheel-drive vehicles are mandatory most winters, and guest must be prepared to shovel snow, potentially a lot of it. This is a mountain cabin, not a motel! The driveway gets plowed once a day, but during big storms you may get snowed in. We recommend carrying a shovel in your car in case you have to clear the driveway to get in. Also, during storms we get frequent power outages, so guests must be prepared to spend some time in the dark. Bring flashlights, extra batteries, and a cooler for storing food if necessary.
We are generally not available for in-person assistance, but we can usually be reached by phone or text. You are always welcome to contact us, we don't mind at all.
Cell phone service is limited at the cabin. You may use Wifi calling if you have a modern smartphone...that's what we use. There is no landline.
The loft bedroom is open to the downstairs living space, so although beautiful it is not as private as the downstairs bedroom.
- Quiet hours are between 9 p.m. and 8 a.m., although this is a quiet neighborhood and we expect our guests to be quiet and respectful at all times.
- No more than four guests may occupy the cabin, and no more than two vehicles are allowed.
- Cars must be parked off the street in the winter.
- Guests are not allowed to use the garage.
- We are a shoes off household.
- No smoking applies to the entire property, both inside and outside.
-No bikes or skis allowed inside the house.
Emily and I are both native Californians and have been playing on the shores of Lake Tahoe since we were babies. We now have a daughter of our own, Aila, who was born in South Lake Tahoe. We love to mountain bike, ski, trail run, hike, paddle board, read, travel, and eat good food. We're happy to share our knowledge of Lake Tahoe with visitors. Our goal in life is to keep it simple and to appreciate every moment. Life is short, live for now!
