Newly renovated studio. Included are new appliances, bed, furniture, etc. We live in the house, but this is a fully equipped basement studio, which is occupied by a full-time tenant who rents the space when she's gone. We love to entertain, but respect privacy too! Private entrance in rear. Close to public transit. We just moved to DC from Denver. Wife speaks French (native) and tenant speaks German fluently.
The kitchen is fully equipped with refrigerator, range, microwave, dishwasher, garbage disposal & French press as well as dishes, glassware, and pots and pans for cooking.
In addition to a new queen size memory foam bed is a sectional that will convert into a bed. Additionally there is WiFi, a small desk, and cable TV. There is also a blackout curtain that divides the space between bed and couch.
There is street parking, however you and we will prefer if you use the private parking (garage door) by way of rear alley. The studio's private entrance is accessed in the rear although there is a shared entry in the front through our living area. We will give you the code for the garage door opener before arrival.
We are relatively new to DC, but have done many of the sights and can share our recent experiences. Always happy to share a drink and we will try to accommodate a number of requests (such as laundry, rides, maps, grocery items, whatever makes your stay better and fits with our schedules too). Our tenant, Adrienne, has lived in D.C. since early 2016 and works in the Senate. She's also always happy to share a drink and give D.C. tips - especially about food. We are dog lovers, and own a golden doodle, Gucci.
If I haven't already mentioned: The basement ceiling height is 6'8" tall... a little taller than a standard doorway. The extra bed (converted sectional) is in the same room as the queen size bed, but there is a blackout curtain that hangs between. There is a washer/dryer unit best suited for small loads... If you've been travelling and need a larger capacity, let us know and you can use our units upstairs. There is a stairway between basement and main level--but it is only used when guests are not booked... the basement space remains private for your stay.
If French language is helpful... speak to my wife, she's a native and happy to help other francophiles--travelers. Our tenant is also a German-speaker, and happy to chat in German, too!
Best to you!

New to DC by way of 15 years in Denver. Wife is originally from France. Have been active in the mountains in the West and thought the move to DC would be a great place to be for awhile and it gets us closer to our European family! Love travelling to foreign countries... especially tropical scuba diving and Europe. I'm a gen xer who can't seem to get the MN Vikings or Twins out of my system, though my time in Denver came close!
