Pinnacle Farms South is a great location for foodies. Close to downtown, the airport, and South Mountain trails, there are several other farms close by to create your own masterpiece in the efficiency kitchen of the apartment unit. Complete with chickens, a fire pit and really dark nights for stargazing, Laveen is Phoenix's hidden secret. Rural living meets the city here, but you can still get a glimpse of the past in the adjacent historic adobe farm house and walk the orchard.
Pinnacle South apartment has uneven stairs and may not be suitable for people with trouble climbing stairs. It is quite old and a bit quirky sometimes, some windows may no longer work, etc, but I believe you will find it quite charming and hopefully enjoy the fire pit area with friends. It also has a resident rooster, a window A/C unit, no central heat, only a space heater, and now has wifi! It is a working farm, so Monday through Friday there may be work going on around the farm from 7 to 3 ish.
Walk the orchard, enjoy the firepit. The grounds are open and I am happy to take you for a tour and explain some of the history of the farm and info on the farming projects here. The orchard is a nice walk and the observant folks will find many things to look at including the heirloom projects and historic date palms from Iraq. The apartment is located on the edge of the city of Phoenix and cell phone service is great. TV fans can the Amazon Fire on the provided TV or bring their own devices. The apartment is cooled by a window a/c, and a space heater, during the one month of winter.
While I do not live on site, my dad does. He can be very welcoming, full of history for the listener, and if you eat his food with gusto, he will be your best friend. He also likes donuts from the nearby Sunrise Donut Shop, so if you find yourself in need, you know the secret. If you prefer privacy, just let us know.

I am a vegetable grower aka: farmer! My primary interests include playing in the dirt and watching my plants grow. My husband and I live in a historic home in Central Phoenix, and my farm house is also a historic home made from adobe, so you can see we enjoy old things and the history of Phoenix is quite fun too. My dad keeps the light on at the farm on South Mountain and guests can depend on having someone around in case they need anything or need directions to get around. We are all born and raised in Phoenix and can give you info on lots of subjects. You can look up my farm page and see some of my photos of the farms.
