The apartment is cozy, clean and has all of the amenities we wanted (dish washer, washer, stove, etc.). It was perfect for 3 people. Although it is a drive to the city center, it is a very short 5-10 minute car ride. We traveled east for a few days and we're happy to return back to this warm and inviting apartment. Jodis was very good at communicating with us, and even shared some inside information for guided tours. I would highly recommend this apartment, and would love to come back. Thank you for having us!
A beautiful apartment, with a relaxed, country feel. The apartment has its own entry, and feels very private, with a patio overlooking the bay. A great place to work if necessary - large table with good internet access in a nice, peaceful environment. Nearby bike/running trails that follow the perimeter of the peninsulas leading into town.
Jodis's studio is very cozy, with lovely artwork decorating the walls, and a nice layout. Plenty of room for two people to stay. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the washing machine (with a drying rack supplied) was such a great bonus! One note when booking: the hot tub was out of commission during our stay, and appeared to be under repair. This wasn't an issue for us, as we were busy sightseeing during the day, and used the apartment mostly to rest. But if your heart is set on a soak, perhaps double-check with Jodis on the status. Or, hike to Reykjadalur, the nearby "steam valley," for a dip in the hot river. :)
Jodis' place is great! I would highly recommend staying there. The view from the outside deck is amazing and since we were having great weather in August, it was nice to lounge out there, soak in some sun, drink a beer and just relax. The beds were comfortable and there was a lot of space. It was very easy to get into the house the first time and was a pleasure to stay there. The one quibble is that it does cost a lot to take a cab into the city from here, but that is the reality of Iceland and there is a bus very close to the house, so if you can figure that out it shouldn't be a problem at all. All in all it was a great place to stay.
