This is an off-grid, self-sufficient, self contained, Earthship studio apartment in the semi-rural Adelaide Hills, 45min drive from the CBD. Guests will experience a unique stay with a tiny eco-footprint. Close to Adelaide Hills wineries, golf course, bush-walks and other tourist attractions. The Freney family live next door in a passive solar strawbale home - close by if you need advice on sailing the "ship". A place where you can experience the future of sustainable housing!
Guests will need to respect the limitations of the off-grid systems for power, water and sewage and take care with the natural building finishes.
The bed is a 100% latex futon mattress, low to the ground so it may be difficult to get in and out of bed if you are elderly. Sheets are luxurious 1200 TC pure cotton.
Delicious vegetarian breakfast ingredients, including free range eggs and honey from the property, supplied (but not prepared/served).
There is a wood heater (which also serves as a cook top, oven and it also boosts the solar hot water heater). Wood is supplied from May to September.
Guests will have the Earthship all to themselves.
I am generally available or a phone call away should guests need any help.
