INSIDE THE HOUSE
Drive up the gravel lane through the trees, and you’ll find yourself at the side door of this classic Cape Cod. Climb the wooden steps to the deck (multiple seating areas for birdwatching, or enjoying dinners from the gas grill) and enter through the side door.
Straight down a narrow green hallway is a kitchen with plenty of cabinet space. A gas oven and range, dishwasher, microwave, two-door fridge and a large granite-topped island make this an easy space to play chef. Stairs down to the basement (where there’s a washer/dryer) are off the kitchen too.
Open to the kitchen is the dining room, where the whole family can sit together beside the bay window overlooking the woods.
You can enter the living room through the dining space (or through the front door) - here you can sit by the fireplace or play cards. On the other side of the staircase and entryway is a separate family room that seats 4 by the TV, with easy access back to the porch sitting area. There’s also a full bathroom across from the family room, to the right after you enter the hall. Both bathrooms have conservation toilets and shower/tub combos with tall step-ins.
Up the hardwood stairs and to the left is a family-style third bedroom that sleeps four with a queen size bed and twin trundle bed, with plenty of dresser and closet space too.
Next to the third bedroom is a shared full bath, with bold pink striped walls, a large mirrored vanity, and tub/shower combo.
To the right of the stairs are the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms, one with a Queen bed and one with a Double bed. Plenty of light coming in from Cape Cod style windows. Because of the mild climate, there’s no air conditioning in the house. Open the windows at night to let through a delicious breeze.
This house is directly beside conservation land, helping preserve its quiet, private feel. Just across the road is a river. Paddle left to go to Oyster Pond, or right to reach the larger Stage Harbor. If you didn’t bring a boat, you can rent canoes and kayaks at the Chatham Kayak Company, only a 10-minute walk from the house.
No Cape Cod vacation is complete without a lighthouse visit. You can find the lovely Chatham Lighthouse only 4 miles from the house. On your way back, stop at Chatham’s Main Street for some northern seaside Americana. Dinner choices include the Impudent Oyster, for seafood set in a repurposed church, and Wild Goose Tavern for elevated American food.
It goes without saying that you’ll find gorgeous beaches throughout the area – family-friendly Harding Beach is only one mile from home.

Cleaning: Each property will be cleaned and inspected after your departure. We ask you to help us enable the cleaning crews as much as possible. Simple things like leaving the property tidy, running the dishwasher, starting to wash the towels, and taking out the trash are expected of our guests.
If excessive wear and tear is found on property, or additional cleaning is necessary due to spills, trash left on site, unclean dishes, stains to furniture, carpeting, linens, paint, wallpaper, or flooring, Guest authorizes the Owner to bill them for additional fees. If at any time the maximum number of occupants is exceeded or if the Owner receives information about excessive noise, Owner has the right to evict Guest and all occupants immediately and to bill the guest a minimum service fee of $250. If any sign of smoking is discovered Guest authorizes the Owner to charge the guest a minimum $500 cleaning fee. Unless the rental policy specifically allows, if any sign of any pet is discovered Guest authorizes Owner to charge the guest an additional minimum $500 cleaning fee.
Properties are fully furnished properties that will include bedspreads, linens, blankets, pillows, towels, a fully equipped kitchen, TV, furnishings unless otherwise specified.
Travel Insurance is highly recommended for any stay.
