Haunui and Nina are the most genuine, kind and generous hosts. We really enjoyed our stay here (we stayed twice within the 3 weeks we were in Bora Bora). Check in was easy - getting picked up by Haunui was such a pleasure, the place was so clean & exactly as described, the fresh fruit was delicious and appreciated, having a washing machine was fantastic. It is down a long driveway with many houses (and dogs!), so it really felt like we were living right in the middle of a village, a much more authentic stay than many would have the opportunity to experience elsewhere in Bora Bora :) Take mosquito repellent, be prepared for lizards on the ceiling, lots of dog & rooster noises - all part of the experience. The bakery a few mins down the road and then the gelato place are both must visits! The walk to the wharf/shops is about 15mins.
Haunui was the greatest host on our trip to French Polynesia. We wish we had stayed much longer at his place. The accommodation was perfect, 2 separate rooms, good kitchen, bathroom, lovely terrace. What made this stay exceptional though was the hosts’ friendliness and helpfulness. Haunui picked us up at the airport shuttle and gave us a lift when needed during our stay. More importantly, he really made us feel like we’re at home (the house actually is his old home, and feels like a place with a soul, not some random b&b). Tips for hiking tours off the beaten track, fresh fruits in the evening, great stories about the island’s history & culture, Haunui did everything do make this stay exceptional.
Nina was a great host, she was very welcoming. She picked us up when we arrived at BoraBora and she showed the market area and advised some restaurants. She also provided two free bicycles for us to go around. This accommodation is not fancy as many places in BoraBora but good for the value you pay.
