This cozy cabin is directly across from Freshwater park, with seasonal swimming and beautiful wooded surroundings. Secluded, but only minutes from Eureka or Arcata, you have access to nightlife, restaurants, galleries, amenities and of course the beaches and redwoods. We call it "Huckleberry" because of the berries surrounding the area. As map apps show, we're bounded on three sides by timber holdings, so aside from us there are no immediate neighbors. Sleeps up to four with the rollout bed
This cabin is tucked behind the main house, both of which are across the road from the park. Two acres allow for lots of exploration for kids or adults, and the timber holdings on three sides mean no unsightly fences or nosy neighbors. There is an abundance of wildlife locally, including raccoon, skunk, deer and even a bear occasionally. Bats in the summer evenings as well. This place is cozy and warm, great for rainy winter nights or relaxing after a day at the creek across the way.
There is gated access, you'll get a remote with your key, to be returned with same. Let us know when you'll be arriving and we'll see that the room is open and waiting for you.
We value your privacy, and will endeavor to stay out of the way, but if you need anything, feel free to ask. We've lived in the area for years and can answer many questions you might have.
Humboldt can be cold and wet in the late fall/winter, but we're lucky to be in the "banana belt" and enjoy lovely summer/early fall weather. Swimming definitely recommended then!
