If you are looking for a comfortable, peaceful home with easy access to the busy city centre, this is your spot! The street is charming but quiet, including friendly neighbours and located near a real dyke. Very close are food stores, nice places to eat and drink and a park. The place is very well suited for couples, couples with two small children and travellers looking for a peaceful stay in hectic Amsterdam. It's by far the nicest place in Amsterdam we lived at since moving here in 2007!
Built in the 19th century, this two-story apartment (105 sq m or 1130 sq ft) opens up into a big living room including a modern kitchen and a cosy balcony. Next to the bookshelves (secured to the wall) our children store their toys and like to play. The first bathroom is located on the same floor complete with bath, toilet and fountain. The bedrooms and smaller bathroom with toilet and shower are on the top level. The master bedroom leads to the roof terrace giving a great view of the Rembrandt Tower located next to the Amstel station. There is a wash facility in the master bedroom and you access the small bathroom with shower here. The toddler beds are in the second bedroom where there is chest of drawers for extra storage.
