Charming Casita located on the historic Santa Fe Trail 7 min. to the Plaza. Enjoy peace, quiet, overlooking the city with amazing sunsets and views from your own portal overlooking lush gardens. Nearby access to museums, hiking and biking trails, galleries, dining, and skiing.
Perfect for 1-2 adults and up to 2 children, with fenced yard for pre-approved dogs.
Kitchenette, heated Jacuzzi tub, king sized bed, and hand crafted furnishings complete the comforts of this beautiful casita.
You will find a fully appointed living space, with TV, stereo, comfy furnishings, kitchenette with everything you need to prepare your own meals if you desire, including a wood fire BBQ. Ask us if you need more wood.
We now have a king size bed with a thick pillowtop mattress, crisp cotton sheets and duvet cover, freshly laundered in anticipation of your visit. The duvet is down and fiber filled and you have your choice of fiber or down pillows or both to make your sleep the most comfortable ever.
In the living room we have an antique (in size as well as age) single bed, and can provide a high rise single air bed, for up to 2 extra guests/more appropriate for children.
The full bath includes heated floor, heated Jacuzzi tub, fluffy cotton towels, and anything else you may need for a spa like bathing experience.
The Casita was recently renovated to include passive solar gain from the windows in both rooms to help keep the space warm and cozy, beautiful; Saltillo tile floors, and classic Talavera tile counters, shower/tub surround; and south western style decor. The property is lushly landscaped and you are invited to spend time in the gardens, or watching the sunset from the portal.
You are welcome to explore all of the property outside of the main house fence/walls. This includes hiking up and down to the arroyo, seating/picnic space in the wooded area just beyond your parking space, our baby orchard, and the gardens in progress around the property.
The casita has a large fenced in "back yard" where your dogs are welcome to spend the day ( we have provided tools for doggy clean-up ).
Most people will want access to the tower on the main house, we are happy to share that with you but as it is adjacent to private areas of our home we ask that you get permission first.
I am usually available at all times by a quick phone call or text. If you need anything please contact me right away.
Mark is often available for advice about hiking and biking and is always up for a BBQ if you are so inclined.
A heavy snow fall could delay your departure, but Mark will attempt to get it cleared away as soon as possible. (It is about an 800 ft driveway so it can take him a bit of time, we have extra shovels if you should want to help!)
If heavy snow is forecast and you need to depart early we can arrange parking by the gate, but snow is usually not an issue for long in Santa Fe!
- With pre-approval up to 2 dogs will be welcome, but we do not allow cats. You have access to a large fenced yard for their use. We ask that your pets are contained in the yard or crated when left behind while you visit Santa Fe. In deference to our neighbors barking dogs will not be tolerated. Pets are not permitted on our furnishings at anytime and we have one large crate and one medium carrier available for your use as needed. Also provided are doggy clean up tools for you to use prior to check out. Ask us about meeting our dogs, and about areas for leash walking yours.
Located in one of the dresser drawers you will find "doggy" sheets and sofa cover to protect the furnishings from dog hair should you have an extra hairy shedder. If you use them, please leave them on the floor so I will know to clean them. Thank you
- We can accommodate up to 2 children with an antique (in age and size) single bed and an airbed in the living room space. We do not have a crib, but we can certainly allow those with their own travel crib to stay with their infants.
- Please park in space provided, if additional parking is required please contact me.
Because Mexican tile is delicate, we ask that should you wish to clean anything that you contact us and/or use the natural products that we have provided.
I'm a semi-retired artist enjoying life in my dream home in Santa Fe. I love to garden, bake, create beautiful things and spend time with my 2 Norwegian Elkhounds. My spouse, a semi-retired engineer, is a hiking and biking addict and loves to share his passion with others. He will be happy to show you his new orchard and innovative watering system as well. Together we enjoy eating out in SFs wonderful restaurants, going to movies and ending the day on our deck watching the beautiful New Mexico sunsets with a cup of tea or glass of wine.
