St Alfonso's is an excellent place, run by retired couple of educated manilenos (and their numerous grandchildren). Once you arrive you get immersed into a friendly Philippino family. They can (for additional charge) share their food with you or cook anything at your request. Hostess is able to make really delicious and huge (!) dishes. Atmosphere if very informal, for example they would not force you to pay regularly or checkout not-a-minute-later. The garden is creatively designed by hostess with a lot of attention payed to small details. Partymakers can cook BBQ and sing karaoke. Camping site and grotto were still under construction during my stay (Apr, 2017), but it promises to be as nice as everything else. There are no real private bathrooms (mine was just nextdoor, so no problem, but still not private). Getting there could be hard at first time. The key thing is to ask the taxi driver to get to Bakakeng Norte and then pay attention to signs (there are St Alfonso's pointing arrows at every turn). It's quite easy (once you are familiar with the way) to get to the place using jeepneys from Baguio Plaza to Bakakeng Norte (their stop is near Burnham park). Basic shops and eateries as well as jeepney stop are in a few minutes walk from St Alfonso's. During my stay (Apr, 2017) Bakakeng road was under construction, so to get to the place I had to spend some time in a traffic jam.

Three of us stayed at the place for 3 days and 2 nights last Holy Week 2017 and it exceeded our expectations. To be completely honest, at first we were a bit disappointed because of the road being difficult to traverse and when we got there our collective mood wasn't the best - although that was also largely because we hadn't had breakfast yet. We also arrived at around 9:30 a.m. - four hours earlier than the expected check-in time. The room was still occupied, but the hosts were extremely gracious and let us rest on the grounds. We even had breakfast while waiting for the room, and after that we were considerably happier. We also had time to explore the grounds and they were beautiful and scenic, exactly as the description says. After a short while, we were able to check-in our room and again, it was just as described. The rest of our stay was just amazing. The hosts were hospitable, kind, and very accommodating. They went out of their way to make us feel at home - and we did. My companion was four months pregnant and she was constantly showered with care by our hosts. They gave gifts that would help with her condition and made the food especially healthy for her. They even gave a bowl of homemade fruit salad and a jar of gourmet tuyo among other things. We also had a bonfire on our second night. They have around five sites on their grounds for the bonfire, and each is good. They lit the fire for us and we had a very good night of singing and talking around the fire. It was magical. The review would be too long if I list every single thing we loved about the place. The only negative thing I can point out is the road and the distance from the highway, but I can say with 100% certainty that Saint Alfonso's Place is worth the slight difficulty getting there.

Dear Trisha, Thanks for an extremely generous review. You are indeed very kind to highlight our hospitality and recommend us so highly. We are glad to know of your pleasant stay and happy memories. It was a pleasure serving you. We would love to welcome you again. Warm Regards from all of us at Saint Alfonso's Place.

Overall, our stay was good. Maam Karen was so kind to accomodate us even if we arrived earlier than our expected check in time. The room we got was spacious. May mga black ants nga lang sa walls near the ceiling. TV was not working that time. To access the place, you have to have your own car for your own convenience. A reliable one is a must coz there were a lot of steepy roads on its way heading to the place.

Place perfectly matches the description. Hosts were extremely hospitable and we enjoyed our sleep there. Weather and the scene were great. Though I wish the bathroom was a bit cleaner. Thank you for having us! :)

One of the cheapest Baguio accommodations with good amenities and customer service. The place is clean, quiet, and it is located just about 6km from the city center. Very suitable for families or large groups who want decent no-frills accommodations.

The place is situated outside of the city proper and one can expect the serene ambiance because of this. That is enough to make up for the challenge of getting a cab out of the SAP to visit the famous tourist spots. For the young folks, the trek to go out to get a jeep ride is good exercise but I worry for the older folks. Maybe, they can offer a taxi ride through their contacts to ease the transpo challenge. On the other hand, the hosts were very gracious and even set up hearty breakfast for me and my family including a sumptuous dinner for a very reasonable price. I love our room with its own rest room and veranda. They cleaned it every day and they made sure that our stay is comfy. Thank you for making my brother's 1st trip to Baguio, a memorable one.

“We’re home!” was the first thing I said to my friend the moment we stepped inside the compound of Saint Alfonso’s Place (SAP) and it wasn’t simply because we were finally checking in. No matter the version of a home you had in mind, you will find a piece of it in Saint Alfonso’s Place especially if you love nature or if you just want to take a visual break from the omnipresence of tall buildings and busy roads in the city. It wasn’t difficult to get excited after seeing their photos in the Airbnb gallery and to say that the view never disappointed would be an understatement. SAP is nestled comfortably inside a massive garden and you can easily get a dose of trekking just by exploring the place. There is a balance between lush trees and manicured camping sites. The colorful décor also provides great contrast against all the greenery. A male staff helped us with our bags and introduced us to Sir Mike, our host. Sir Mike is very friendly and accommodating and so are Ms. Vicky and the members of the staff. One of the highlights of our stay was when Sir Mike informed us that he upgraded our reservation and that we could stay in the suite sans additional charges. The suite is located at the back of the main house and if it’s privacy that you’re looking for, make sure you arrange for this room. It felt like we were moving in for good—there’s a small porch in the front and the suite itself has a spacious bedroom. It also has a large bathroom and a small yet equipped kitchen. SAP also provided us essentials and made sure we’re taken care of. What makes it even more impressive is that SAP is family- and pet-friendly. We even got to play with Sir Mike’s pet dogs (i.e. this was one of the best parts). At the back of the suite was a small space where we sat and spent time drinking in the view of the colorful houses sprinkled on the hill from afar. We only stayed there for two days and a night but what I really loved the most about the experience was that while Saint Alfonso’s Place is accessible, it’s also a curb away from the noise of the busy roads and distractions. SAP being located within a mostly residential area makes it ideal for genuine relaxation—the place is quiet and wasn’t imposing. Public transport was easy to catch and there are also a handful of tourist destinations nearby. My friend and I were out most of the time but Sir Mike gave us a tour of the entire place after we checked in. They made us feel like we actually lived there, or at least it made me want to. We also spent time to just sit in the garden and admire the view and believe me when I say you risk losing storage space just by taking photos of Saint...
