Warm wood floors, nine foot ceilings, south facing living room windows look out on huge Victorian houses across the street and gorgeous flower garden just outside windows. Secure first floor location with rear patio. Please note: Another apartment is available called "Patio with Wonderful Apartment" at the same address. Both apartments have patios with table and chairs! Large colorful abstract paintings make this apartment very special. And there is a desk and desk chair.
Guests are welcome to browse the gallery on the second floor (owner's apartment) at any time. It is open to the public weekends in a limited fashion. The owner represents an artist Robert E. Kuhn, sculptor and painter from the mid-century. Swa(URL HIDDEN) There is a washer and dryer that goes with the apartment (shared). Parking is available for $100 per day. Limited street parking is available and the host will gladly obtain a permit for that.
You will see the owner as much or as little as you would like. This apartment is very quiet. The Swann Street Gallery hosts a jazz party the first Friday of month October through April - guests are welcome to join! PLEASE NOTE CAREFULLY: While I have a limit of a four day stay, I welcome possible guests to reach out to me regarding a shorter stay. Please use Contact Host button under my Profile picture. For guests who are overseas, please try to time your phone reservation so that it arrives between the American hours of 7 a m to midnight. My cell phone rings loudly when I have an inquiry so that I do not miss it
A dog guest may be possible. Many small galleries call Dupont Circle home. The best neighborhood gallery is upstairs! The Swann St Gallery, representing Robert E. Kuhn, mid-century abstract artist and sculptor. Please know that there will be visitors to the gallery which includes the downstairs hall and upstairs, especially on Sat. and Sun. afternoons 1 pm to 7 pm. Guests are welcome on those days to browse the gallery and to visit.
Washer and dryer -Remove lint from dryer screen and avoid leaving clothes in washer for long periods. Use your own soap ; please contain your laundry behind the louvered doors to keep things pleasant for guests.
Apartment: No high heel shoes on wood floors please-Heels mark up the floors and the clunky sound resonates upstairs to owner's quarters. Please carry wheeled luggage over wood floors, if possible. You may recycle paper/plastic trash in the proper cans in the alley. Important - do not try to adjust radiators. Also important - do not take the lid off the toilet for any reason. Do not attempt to do any repairs please.
Please do not leave any personal items etc behind when you vacate the apartment. Quarters are close and sound does transfer between apartments; please respect others by avoiding loud conversation after 10 pm. Please use the garbage disposal carefully - no stems, stringy veggie peelings, bottle caps-If you have a jar that will not open, please use the tool I have supplied in your kitchen drawer and not the counter top.
On the day the guest in the "other" apartment departs, my cleaning staff will need exclusive access to the washer and dryer.
