Swyn y Gwynt means ‘Sound of the Wind’ because sea breezes are often prominent here. The house is a lovely Victorian end-of-terrace in the vibrant city of Bangor. Yes, Bangor has a cathedral which technically makes it a city, but it looks and feels more like a market town. As with many Victorian properties, Swyn y Gwynt is blessed with high ceilings and many character features yet has been renovated and decorated to a very high standard, to include a new modern, fully fitted kitchen. The house boasts sea views overlooking the historic Porth Penrhyn from where Welsh slate was once exported all over the world. It is still used by fishermen today. It’s worth exploring this area as well as Bangor’s splendid pier.
