Full Breakfast included. Located up on the less-busy High Road in Valentia Island with stunning views over Portmagee Bay.
5 minutes drive from the colorful fishing village of Portmagee (with great bars and food), and 7 minutes from Knights Town, the pretty port where you can take the ferry to Cahersiveen.
Within walking distance and/or a short drive of all Valentia beauty spots. The entrance to Geokaun Mountain and cliffs is 3 minutes walk away, for example.
Valentia Island is an area of breathtaking scenery on the Skellig Ring and the Wild Atlantic Way.
My home is right in the center of this stunning landscape, which is perfect for walking, fishing, painting, photography and generally relaxing.
You have your own spacious double-bed room with a pine wood queen-size bed. The room is at the front of the house with stunning views over Portmagee Bay and an en-suite shower, toilet and a spacious walk-in wardrobe.
The room (and the front of the house) is South-West facing and gets lots of light all day. There are wonderful views from the garden (which has a patio table and chairs) over Portmagee bay to the left and front - and the Skellig Rocks, to the far right.
There is also a modern, well equipped bathroom for guest use just across the hall should you wish to take a bath, rather than a shower (this bathroom is for guest use and is not shared by the host).
Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, soft drinks and biscuits are always available to you in the large, extremely well equipped kitchen and dining area. Feel free to use the toasted sandwich maker.
The breakfast area has a large, solid pine table, and includes two original traditional Irish "Sugán" chairs (with woven straw seat). This room also has excellent views of Portmagee Bay from the large patio door and picture window.
You are welcome to spend as much time as you wish in the well-appointed sitting room. Read a book from the well-stocked library shelves, in the sun-room or on the patio, if you wish, with more superb views towards the Skellig Rocks, or just enjoy the scenery and relax.
Sun-room (reading / teaching room)

I am really looking forward to meeting you and adding to your experience of this wonderful part of the world. I will do whatever I can to make your stay as comfortable and as enjoyable as possible.
If I say so myself, I'm a pretty good cook and I will enjoy showing off my skills by cooking a full Irish breakfast for you, or offering you a lighter alternative if preferred. Please let me know of any special dietary requirements you may have.
If you need help with booking trip or need to use the computer to print a document or send an email - or anything else - just ask!
Of course, if you wish to just enjoy your stay quietly, and get on with your own "thing", you'll hardly know I'm here. :)
I am an award-winning professional photographer, writer and photography teacher. My recent publications have included a book of landscape photographs from South Kerry (which was featured on Irish TV) and a book of photographs of traditional Irish musicians.
I love to talk about photography and I will be glad to offer some hints and tips should you wish to ask me a question.
Anyone interested in learning more about how to use their cameras - either for general use or landscape photography - can avail of half or full day teaching sessions or longer workshops from me. Professional photo-shoots are also available if required.
Hello, I am a British-born award-winning photographer, writer and photography teacher, recently moved to Valentia from County Limerick after 17 years.
My recent publications have included a book of landscape photographs from South Kerry (which was featured on Irish TV) and a book of photographs of traditional Irish musicians.
I love music almost as much as I love photography and have often combined the two - and you will see evidence of my passions in the form of musical instruments and old cameras around my home.
If I say so myself, I'm a pretty good cook and I will enjoy showing off my skills by cooking a full Irish breakfast for you.
One of the things that drew me to this part of the world, was the stunning scenery and the fantastic quality of the light, which is the thing that really makes a landscape photo.
I love to talk about photography and I will be glad to offer some hints and tips should anyone wish to ask m a question. Longer teaching sessions can be arranged at additional cost, in the purpose built teaching room.
I am really looking forward to meeting you and adding to your experience of this wonderful part of the world.
