Jillian went above and beyond in being the best host. From helping to arrange tours to being so responsive to messages, first class act! Special thanks to Patricia for the yummy breakfasts and constantly making sure that we had an amazing fire going on. And thanks to Oscar as well for being such a great driver who went out of the way for the group. The stay was amazing and made so by all this awesome people! Thank u!

La Tapera is a small island of paradise in the Uco Valley. Patricia came every morning and served a delicious breakfast. The breakfast table that she sets is beautiful! It was a bit chilly when we were there and every day we came home to a gorgeous fire made with giant, interesting logs. Our host Francisco set us up with a driver, Oscar, who had a 16 person Mercedes Benz van - plenty big enough for 8 of us with the kind of luggage that only Americans bring on holiday (the extended family did not pack light). We also had a wheelchair, and Oscar was the perfect gentleman - taking us to wineries, supermarkets, restaurants, and loading the wheelchair et al in and out with patience, kindness and humor. There is a tiny store selling basics right at the end of the road. Francisco was out of town, but stayed in touch with me throughout, even setting up wine tastings at short notice, and dealing with minor urgent issues that we had. Our ten-year old wanted to ride, and Lukas, the 'gaucho', took her riding every morning, even teaching her how Argentinian horse riders trot - a different style than in the US (perhaps polo style?) Amazing how a horse mad kid can converse with the guy who looks after the horses even though neither were fluent in the same language. Everyone at La Tapera is kind, gracious, good humored and fun. I wholeheartedly recommend La Tapera for a family holiday. Our family toured vineyards, ate delicious meals, played golf at Tupungato Winelands, ate at Siete Fuegos, and enjoyed gentle horseriding on the property. The wine tastings that Francisco set up at Tierra Altas and SoloContigo were among our favorites. Tierra Altas is a great idea to plan as your first wine tasting - extremely educational about the vines, and the different techniques used for reserve wines and the more affordable, higher production lines. Cesar imparted a LOT of information in a short time with amazing passion and lots of jokes and games. As its on the way to La Tapera from Mendoza it would be a good first stop (we went there the same day we visited Chacras de Coria.) SoloContigo is a beautiful boutique winery nearby, where the warmth of the welcome in a personal home with art, bookshelves and mid-century design is truly unique. Hurry up and book your visit to La Tapera - you won't be disappointed!

I don't even know where to begin to describe how amazing this place was. Huge amount of land with the Andes as a backdrop with horse and sheep in the distance. Complete quiet and seclusion, deep in the Uco Valley, with some incredible wineries all within reasonable driving distances. The estate is exactly as described and words cannot describe how great it was. There was a maid who was there every day cleaning and providing us a basic breakfast (though if we had bought breakfast foods like eggs, I'm sure she would've prepped them for us). There were men cleaning out the pool on a daily basis. Oscar, our driver that the host arranged for us, was outstanding and his prices were more than reasonable. We actually initially were going to try to navigate around Mendoza without Oscar, but he showed up to the airport anyway and he was a god-send since the car rentals were EXTREMELY expensive and taking a taxi was actually more expensive since we had 6 people in our group. It was at times difficult to communicate with him because of the language barrier but he was very patient and always courteous. Oscar took us to a Walmart to get basic supplies, a butcher and fish shop so we could cook dinner that night (my friend who loves to cook was in heaven since the estate had an old stone oven that he had never used in the past and he actually stayed to cook us dinner while we went wine-tasting because he was so excited). The host was extremely communicative the entire time and also gave us contacts to his cousin and his girlfriend who arranged EVERYTHING for us (wine tastings at places of our choosing, restaurant reservations, direct communication with Oscar - EVERYTHING). It was so easy, so relaxing, and by FAR, the highlight of our South America trip up to that point. We went during in January so it was VERY hot during the day, but we were out and about during it; at night, it got dramatically cooler. All in all, absolutely fantastic and I would not hesitate to book it again as long as Julian is okay with it! :-)

We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful house. We spent a week with both our families to celebrate our wedding and we couldn't have picked a better place. Every morning we woke up to a delicious breakfast courtesy of Patricia and Marta, sitting at a table looking out into the mountain. Everyone enjoyed the pool and we all loved having horses and sheep around the garden. Francisco arranged for a delicious asado after the wedding and it was by far some of the tastiest meat I've ever had. We're already planning on coming back - this place is a 10/10.

Vigem linda!! Julian: Parabéns pela La Tapera pois é única e singular.

We spent 4 nights at La Tapera with a group of friends. The house is in excellent condition (as pictured) and very well equipped. Francisco was available for any questions and Patricia was onsite to help with anything we needed. Location (close to many of the main vineyards) and views are unbeatable. Highly recommended for a large group / families!

Pasamos una estadía muy agradable en la casa, es preciosa y estuvimos muy bien atendidos.
