We are self sufficient and
generate our own power with wind and solar panels.We are a true eco lodge,built of sustainable materials,recycled products and no chemicals used for cleaning etc, but are a normal house to stay in with normal appliances to use.As we are off the grid we get wireless connection for the internet,but good signal.The house has the most glorious and best views around as we are high up,private and are on a small lifestyle block surrounded by (URL HIDDEN) we are distant from any shops please let us know if you require anything or you are welcome to get your own supplies
Guests have access to 2 decks with spectacular views,that are private.Easy access via the deck and plenty of onsite parking near the (URL HIDDEN) the house is a separate dwelling all areas of the house are accessible except underneath which is off limits as is the attached garage.We are always available to chat to and love helping our guests to find interesting places to (URL HIDDEN) we have lived in the area for 17 years we know all the good places to visit!
The Mt Auckland walkway is 1km up the road,one of the best walks in Auckland and Gibbs Sculpture farm park is about 8kms away,Matakana and the town of Warkworth is about half an hours drive by car as is the Parakai hot thermal pools.Omeru reserve is South near Kaukapakapa and has a nice waterfall to walk to,as are the local shops,pub and takeaways, some of the best fish and chips in Auckland are made at Shark & Tatties takeaways, in Kaukapakapa.The fact we have no light pollution means on a clear night to show of stars is amazing to see.Matakana and all its wineries and cafes are about 40 mins drive and is a great way to spend the day.Historic Helensville township isnt too far either for a nice trip to the antique shops.Further north is the Port Albert General store with its fabulous meals to order
Please be aware of neighbors and respect the peace and quiet,no smoking at all anywhere is allowed,recycling of bottles in the separate bin is a good thing to do
We love to interact with our guests as it is a privilage to host them,as we live next door you will be private but can call on us if needed.We are knowledgeable about the area and surrounding district for sightseeing places or other things to do.You will be afforded privacy if that is utmost to you or can chat with us if you so wish as well
