42a Bridgefoot Path is a large three story house on the waters edge in Emsworth. Sat directly along the locally famous Mill Pond with stunning views and easy access to the quaint town centre this holiday let is the perfect base for you and all the family to explore what the local area has to offer.
Upon entering you will find yourself in a light and airy hallway with a utility room to your left fully equipped with sink, washing machine and dryer. A little further along the corridor there is a ground floor wet room style shower room and a ground floor double bedroom (can be a twin room). The bedroom looks out across the quaint walled terrace garden and patio doors will give you access to the courtyard. With the high walls and fences it makes a lovely sun trap, so you can enjoy the sunshines warmth all year around.
On the first floor we have the main living area; being a little like an upside down house with the extra height you can look out at the waterside views from every window as you sit in the comfort of the cosy living room. With plenty of comfortable seating, a large widescreen television and a patio door leading to the balcony this area provides the perfect place to relax and unwind. (The television has no DVD player but you can bring a memory stick for this smart tv)
On the opposite side of the house on the first floor is a modern newly refurbished kitchen and dining area. Its stylish and practical with everything you will need to self-cater during your stay. The kitchen is well equipped with a large fridge, freezer, kettle, toaster, dishwasher, microwave, oven and hob. Being at the rear of the house the kitchen/dining area overlooks the courtyard garden and through tall patio doors you can step out onto the larger terrace balcony. Here you will fine an outdoor table and chairs set (which extended can seat 8) perfect for dining out in the summer evenings and a set of comfy deck chairs to enjoy the hot sunshine.
Higher up the house on the second floor are three bedrooms. The master double bedroom overlooking the mill pond has been decorated to keep the nautical feel . Through a wide arched alcove towards the foot of the bed there is also a single bed tucked away along with a dressing room desk and chair. The second bedroom along is a single room and next door to that there is a third bedroom with twin beds. Placed within easy access between the three is a good sized family bathroom, with a shower over the bath.
Situated at the top of Chichester Harbour, Emsworth is a delightful market town popular with sailors, walkers, artists and tourists. It has two tidal mill ponds which are host to a variety of wild life. It is full of history, with a long established reputation for oyster fishing and boat building and still boasts traditional shipwrights and chandeliers.
Emsworth boasts a handful of independant restaurants including the michelin starred 36 on the Quay,this is in fact just around the corner from 42a Bridgefoot Path. By foot you can easily get to the bottom of South Street where you will find a cafe over looking the harbour, The Bluebell Pub, well known in the local area for therir excellent fish and chips and Fat Olives restaurant.
The sailing club is a thriving centre for sailing enthusiasts and the pretty streets have a fascinating mixture of different architectural styles. A gentle walk around the village, which has superb harbour views, gives a genuine feel for the past.
There are excellent road links to Portsmouth and Chichester (15 minute drive to both approximately) and there is also a mainline station to London. There is an interesting selection of independant shops in the town itself and there are numerous places of interest to visit in the area. These include Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth, one of the largest vantage points in Europe, the internationally renowned Chichester Festival Theatre at Chichester, polo at Cowdray near Midhurst and horse racing and motor sports at Goodwood. In addition to the sailing at Emsworth there is also a very popular sandy beach at West Wittering which attracts wind surfers and surfers, as well as sun bathers.
