I'm sorry you felt there was an absent host. On your confirmation email you were informed there was no need to go to reception as here was a coded entry which you also received. Information on your confirmation email which you clearly didn't digest also explained there would be an envelope in the bunkhouse reception area with details of your room and the code for that particular room. Your beds were prepared and labelled with your names as you were in a 4-bed dorm with 2 other guests, which was also on your booking form at airbnb and your confirmation email. I assume you looked at the website to find there are 2 x 4-bed dorms and 2 x 6-bed dorms... or maybe not in this case. You state this is in the middle of nowhere, was this a surprise to you? I suggest if this was the case you may wish to research where you are staying in future. Your room was ready as the previous guests chose to check out on time, something you failed to do, and had you not been woken would no doubt still be there. There is limited time to turn round an entire bunkhouse ready for that days guests at 4pm together with guest rooms in the Lodge (Website hidden by Airbnb) Our prices compare with those on the island, some charge more and some not.= but we have not had any reason to alter them. I have been a host for over 8 years with over 500 guests every month and we have always received genuine reviews whether good or with comments which need attention. Having belatedly checked out you did then ask to come back into the kitchen, which had been cleaned for the new guests and it was explained why this was not possible. The common area being used by other gests were guests who were staying for multiple nights and chose to stay in the bunkhouse whilst planning their climbing excursion. You were refused re-entry as you were not a paying guest from 10am onwards and therefore hadn't the access paying guests had. You can strongly advise guests as is your right to book elsewhere but I'm sure regular users of this establishment will make their own judgements and have done so over the years, with many returning guests and new ones filling up our bookings into late 2018 already. Finding the place at night is not a problem, Sligachan is a hotel, Lodge, Cottages, Bunkhouse and a campsite. There are no houses, no residents so follow the well signed directions on your email confirmation and the road signs. There is construction work taking place at the cottages alongside the bunkhouse which has impacted on the parking spaces for which we can only apologise but this is temporary and will be completed within a few weeks. The Wi-Fi is free and works in the main but we do have signal problems from time to time which must have occurred during your stay, although not during the stay of others on the same day. I suggest you read all the other reviews and ponder.
