CROYDE THATCHERS HIDEAWAY OVERVIEW
If you're looking for a quaint, quiet escape, but within walking distance of a bustling village and beautiful beach, then this is the cottage for you. This lovely semi-detached stone cottage is one of three recently constructed period-style cottages that nestle in the grounds of a 16th Century thatched Devon Longhouse and is only a very short stroll to the heart of the village as well as the path to the fabulous beach of Croyde Bay. Natural light is aplenty provided by the velux windows, with stunning views over the surrounding tranquil countryside.
This cottage is owned and operated by The Little Pink Surf Shop in Croyde Bay. Guests are entitled to 25% Discount of off Surfboard and Wetsuit Hire prebooked from the shop or booked online on our website (URL HIDDEN)
Croyde is a charming little seaside village, with a variety of restaurants, shops and pubs in the area, along with its very own Post Office. Many parts of the village date back to the 17th Century and a lot of the buildings built in that time are still standing around the village today and is home to one of the best surfboard and body board beaches in the South West. The beach is privately owned and has lifeguards patrols over the summer season. Croyde is also home to the National Trusts Baggy Point, these provide delightful walking with excellent coastal views. Cycling, horse riding, golf and tennis are all available locally. The village is also very close to Braunton, Saunton, Putsborough, Barnstaple and Woolacombe, providing all you need for a great holiday. Youre close to the famous Tarka Trail to cycle around North Devon along the old Railway lines or have a walk on the North Devon Coast Path

Although Thatchers Hideaway Cottage is within walking distance from the beach we thought that guests might appreciate being able to park even closer! Ideal if you have a lot to carry (kids/surf/bodyboards/windbreaks/picnics etc.etc.) or if want to sneak off for a cheeky surf whilst everyone else is still in bed!
The open plan living room with kitchen and dining area is bright, light and spacious. This sociable space is enhanced by the high vaulted ceiling, comfortable sofas, cosy chairs and wood burning stove for snug nights in. Home entertainment includes a wall mounted flatscreen TV with Freeview, WiFi internet access (add to basket), DVD player, Playstation 2 Console (and games) and selection of books and board games that will provide hours of indoor entertainment after long days at the beach.
KITCHEN & DINING AREA
The open plan kitchen is well equipped with gas hob and electric oven as well as integrated microwave, fridge (with freezer compartment), dishwasher, washing machine, and a good supply of cookware and cooking utensils. There is ample storage space for your food items. The centrally placed dining table seats 4.
Bedroom 1: The master bedroom with double bed is based on an attractive mezzanine level with sloped ceiling. Bedside tables with reading lamps, tall mirror and chest of drawers are provided to make your stay as comfortable as possible. This sunny spacious room also has an en-suite WC with hand basin.
Bedroom 2: An attractive twin bedroom is situated on the ground floor with bedside chest of drawers, reading lamp and cosy reading chair. A third, single bed (trundle) is also available in this room.
Bathroom 1: The ground floor family bathroom is fitted with a bath with shower-over, WC and hand basin.
Bathroom 2: Upstairs en-suite with WC and hand basin.
The kitchen leads out to a lovely private area with steps leading up to an elevated courtyard patio area with outdoor table, chairs and parasol. This lovely space has far reaching country views and is an ideal space for summer BBQs and al fresco meals. Enjoy a luxurious soak in the fantastic hot tub! A pathway runs a little way from the front door to the neighbouring property.
There is private, dedicated parking for 2 cars next to the cottage.

Review: We had a lovely Weekend at Thatchers Hideaway. Minus 3 outside but we were lovely and warm, didn't get around to even lighting the Woodburner! Walked the dog through Combas Lane to Putsborough, just 20mins to get there. Coffee on the patio when we got back. We love the Cottage - sure you will too!
