Wake up to the sounds and smells of beach life. Folly beach, "The Edge of America," is a quiet beach town with character. This newly renovated condo is located just off Center Street and is walking distance to restaurants, bars, kid friendly activities, surf shops, the pier and the beach; and is just 15 minutes from historic downtown Charleston. This building does not provide parking. There is on street parking available so just park your car and you can walk wherever you need to go!


This condo is great for couples, families, and anyone needing respite from their daily lives. Sleeps up to 5, and has a kitchen stocked with cooking and dining ware as well as a fenced in backyard which is perfect for kids and pets. Pets are welcome (limit 2) and there is a $50/pet fee added once you have made your reservation.

At the time of booking, please ask about parking restrictions that may exist at the property that you are interested in renting. Personal Items Left Behind: Avocet Properties is not responsible for lost or misplaced items. However, if notified we will exhaust all avenues to search for the missing items and return them at the guest’s expense.





Great location, super nice boho beach town space. Enjoy the beach & pier (3 blocks away!) for delicious long morning walks along the coast, surf & sun, and a cocktail at Pier 101. We LOVED that this space was dog friendly & our pet Chichuahua was able to be with us on this vacation week and he got to experience the ocean. The apartment is well represented online & was great for 2 of us, we also had relatives stay over 1 night and the 2nd bedroom with 2 twin beds and the futon couch were adequately accommodating for a cozy beach town overnight. Folly Island and the beach community are boho and lovely - we had great drinks/music and seafood tastes, loved Bert's Gorcery and Juice Bar. Go into Charleston for REALLY great food - The Grocery, HUSK, Hall's. We were visiting on a holiday weekend (Labor Day) and the crowds of beach-goers were expected, so we scheduled our return to the Island accordingly (later in the afternoon) Parking on the street was easy in the late afternoon/evening hours, right out front of the unit/within a block down the street.

Great location!

We (two couples and a fifth wheel) loved this place! We were amazed by how close the apartment was to the beach and restaurants. The place was very clean and had a great beach theme that was NOT tacky. The front patio/porch area was very nice as well. Our only complaints were that: -the backyard listed was non-existent (found a small side yard with very little grass - mulch instead) -the futon in the living room afforded bad sleep, should be replaced with a day bed or trundle bed to be more accommodating for the fifth person (us couples felt bad because the other beds were great) We would definitely stay here again!

Our stay at the Sunny Side Up was good overall! The house is located right in the heart of downtown Folly Beach. This was convenient in the evenings/at night when we wanted to go out to the restaurants/bars, but it IS pretty loud. Between the bars, music and the fire station that backs up directly to the house, most of us woke up at least once throughout the night each night. The listing says it is fit to sleep 5, but really that's too tight. It is realistically more like 4, unless everyone wants to be on top of one another. It's a good place to stay if you plan on being out of the house and at the beach or downtown for most of the day. If you are planning on being inside for lengths of time it really is too small to comfortably fit more than 3-4 people. The futon couch in the living room(that is supposed to sleep the 5th person) is very small and uncomfortable. There also is only seating in the living room for 3 max and on the porch for 4 people, as well as only has 4 plates/coffee mugs/bowls/kitchen chairs which was odd. If I had 4 people I would stay here again, I would not recommend it to a group of 5. The location was great, check in was easy (although they did not reach out and communicate the check in process) and the house was clean. The grill did not work outside and we did have an experience with an avocet employee that was not very friendly when asking where to put our trash.

The house was a bit difficult to find at first but was clean and in the center of everything. It was perfect for the three of us staying the weekend. I would stay here again!

Great location, a little loud at night with bars in the same street but not a bother.

This unit is super convenient to town & beach... However, it is no more than a cheaply "renovated" apartment. Window shades held up by painter's tape, front door had no weather stripping so it let in lots of street noise & wind, the gate would not latch & blew/slammed in the wind, the washer/dryer stack is under a lean-to shed on side of building. The unit is directly beside the fire station. Night time sirens, equipment movement, & dumpster clanging was an unexpected surprise :l Does not have parking included, so you have to search the streets for open spaces. In the middle of the week &/or in off seasons this isn't that much of an issue. If it is crowded for any reason though, be prepared to walk a bit back/forth to your vehicle from the unit. Check in was easy & staff were delightful. The location right in the middle Folly Beach was fun, cool, & convenient... just be aware that the actual unit has its cons to go along w/ those pros. -KDB in April 2017
