I second what the other review said, the pictures do not do this place justice and you should give this spot a serious look if you're going to be in Aspen. Me, my girlfriend and another couple stayed at Jan's place for our annual 4 day ski trip and the place was perfect for us.
The house is in an excellent location bus stop is about a 3-minute walk down the street with ski boots on (you can actually see the stop from the street side deck) and couldn't have been more convenient for us to catch a bus to Snowmass or any of the other mountains (we took the bus to Aspen Highlands and downtown Aspen - just look for the bus marked as traveling to those locations and you're good to go). It's off one of the main roads going into Snowmass Village, but it's also up on a hill and tucked away nicely which means this convenient place feels secluded. The back deck with the hot tub is tucked on the non-street facing side and overlooks Snowmass - we actually were able to point out runs we did on the mountain from the deck.
As far as amenities go, this is a ski lodge. Don't expect the Ritz, but the place was more than what we needed for our stay. It's decorated nicely - feels like a home - and kitchen is fully appointed. We actually decided to cook in one of our nights there and loved hanging out in the kitchen at the island and large kitchen table. My only suggestion is that the bedroom situation is a little funky. Upstairs, there's a full-sized futon in one room, a queen bed in another, and a twin murphy bed in another office/bedroom. Downstairs there is a second queen sized mattress and another full sized futon in the same room. This was totally fine for our group, but if we had a group of three, there may have been some rock paper scissors going on for rooms.
Jan is an incredible host. She was super communicative and provided a whole slew of excellent recommendations for places to eat, pick up food/beer/liquor, and other fun things to do. She was also super understanding when we were running late getting off the mountain the day of our checkout. Another major bonus, Jan had trail maps, bus routes and even a bunch of discount vouchers for skiing/ski lessons set out for us upon arrival - huge thanks to Jan for those hookups which came in handy.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay with Jan. Would not hesitate to book again with her if we come back to Aspen next year.
