Designed by an architect, the recent refurbishment keeps true to the original character of the 18th century building while providing the apartment with the amenities that can make a stay comfortable, including central heating and a private parking space.
You can enter the apt. from Salvador Sá street, with no stairs to climb, directly to the entrance hall that leads to an ample living room and dining space whose walls are lined with original hand painted tiles.
You’ll find on the bookshelf a selection of books on a variety of subjects (fiction, art, architecture) in English, Italian, Spanish and French. I have an interest in traditional portuguese arts and crafts, and the apartment is furnished with things I collected when living there.
There is WI-FI access and a flat screen TV in the living room.
Next to the living space you will find a fully equipped kitchen with stove, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, washing machine and everything you need to feel at home.
One of the bedrooms has twin beds, and a full en-suite bathroom, with bathtub and shower cabin. The other bedroom has a double bed and a bathroom across the hall. An extra bed can be provided.
All the rooms face south and have large windows with ironwork balconies overlooking the trees of the patio in front. Shimmering through the leaves, you can see the city and the river Tejo.
Towels, linen and sheets are provided.
Rosa is the housekeeper and can upon request provide additional cleaning services, or shopping in the nearby Ribeira food Market.
