TINTONG - UNIQUE HK RESIDENTIAL ROOFTOP EXPERIENCE

The apartment, TINTONG 天唐 is located at the traditional Hong Kong style building (Tong Lau; 唐樓). You have to take all the stairs up to the 9th floor. …
You will not find a better value in Hong Kong. The place is spacious, clean, and has a friendly personal atmosphere. The location in Sham Shui Po is fantastic - you get to experience real Hong Kong, not the gentrified touristy version. It's right next to the metro station so it's extremely easy to get around for sightseeing. There are tons of cheap, delicious places to eat all around. The view from the apartment and the rooftop is fantastic. Tony is an excellent host and speaks fluent English. He doesn't live at the space but is very responsive via text message, and he gave great directions for finding the place. It is quite a climb to the apartment - 9 floors, 166 steps - but for the price it didn't bother me. The place could use a good deep-clean as there was a lot of dust on the shelves and mildew in the shower, but in general it was very clean. The beds, toilet, sink, and floors were all clean. Wifi was good when there was only 2 or 3 people but got pretty slow when any more people were in the space. The shower has hot water via an instant water heater which usually had enough heat for a quick, basic shower. I would recommend Tin Tong to anyone visiting Hong Kong on a budget. It's clean, comfortable, spacious, in a great location, and the host is friendly and responsive.
I stayed one month here, It was a very good experience. The neighborhood is very living! Metro very close, 7/11 shop and some market also. The location is convenient. The apartment is charming with nice view. U have access to the rooftop. I met so many funny roommates. I will miss this place to stay.
Great stay in Sham Shui Po. Tony is a communicative and helpful host. You should have no problems finding/entering with his directions. Location is near the centre of a bustling commercial district with plenty of food to try and people to watch. Coming home at night try the bbq skewers at the corner of Apliu and Kweilin Streets. Rooftop view is memorable.
