Penzer Cottage is newly refurbished and is close to restaurants, bars, shops, great views, family-friendly activities, and the beach. Full LPG central heating is provided, a rarity in Mousehole. There is an upstairs bathroom, a downstairs shower room with a rain shower with heated floor, large porch and the interior is decorated in coastal style. A travel cot is provided. Sky Q satellite TV with 270 channels.
You will be provided with a welcome pack. The cottage has a washer/dryer and a dish washer. We have broadband and a 40" LCD Sony TV and DVD in the living area with Sky Q 270 channel Satellite TV. The cottage is relatively spacious compared with other village properties. The location is very central but accessed via a small alleyway which makes it a quiet refuge amongst the bustle of village life.
The complete cottage is available for your use and a small outside sitting area.
The manager and cleaner are located within 50 yards so you will feel supported at all times during your stay.
There is parking which is accessed via a narrow entrance which can accomodate 4 cars on a first come first served basis. There is no guarantee that you can park there but there are two car parks which provide parking for £18 a week about 100 yards away. The cottages in the village are solid granite and mobile phone signals can be difficult so get so be sure you load the (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) on your phone and log into the WiFi network when you arrive. A good signal can be achieved in the cottage on the right hand side bedside table as you stand in the doorway of the blue bedroom. The boiler cannot be used to adjust the heating so use the thermostat above our sheep "Curly" by the table. If you adjust it manually to raise the heat, please be sure to press the right hand button when its warm or else the heating will be on all the time and we only have two gas bottles which can take days to deliver.
The central heating run from two Butane gas bottles and is set up to come on in the morning to warm the cottage and off during the day until 4 PM. There is good insulation in the cottage and it usually stays warm throughout the day except in very cold periods. It comes on at 4PM and stays on until about 10:30. This should keep the place warm until 12PM when it should be snug to go to bed. In exceptionally cold times it may be necessary to manual override the heating but this is very rare as the temperature hardly ever drops below freezing in the sub tropical village. If the heating is overridden and maxed out for days on end then guests run the risk of using up all the gas and there is a two day time lag in getting new bottles delivered. Guests are requested to turn the heating back to the timed program after they have boosted the heat manually. Experience has shown that the timed program in most cases is more than adequate to keep the cottage warm and snug for your enjoyment.
MY wife and I first went to Mousehole in 2006 and decided we wanted to own our own cottage in the village. We finally bought the cottage in 2011. I have retired as an IT consultant since then though my wife is still a teacher. This has given me the opportunity to get the cottage refurbished to as standard we want and to provide our guests with great accommodation. We love food and travel. Our favourite destinations are Italy and Mexico. We also love going to see shows in the London theatre. My wife reads more than I do and some of her collection of novels and books are left in the cottage for guests to enjoy during their stay. There are also a number of books I have collected about the local area. We successfully rented the cottage with agencies and received many good reviews but have recently started with Airbnb. I believe that success in life lies in one's ability to embrace and welcome change.
