My goal is to create an integrated, collaborative living experience without the expectations and pressures that come with a formal co-op. If this is the type of place you'd like visit, or help create, please come stay with us!!
The location gives you walking access to bars and restaurants in the Mississippi neighborhood, Peninsula Park, and Cherry Sprout grocery store.
Alberta Arts District, New Seasons grocery stores, and the Light Rail are a short bike away!!
Our home is a 1910 Four Square with 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms in the main house and an additional studio in the back. The Cathedral Room is in the SW corner with lots of light and a view of the west hills. It's also equipped with amazing black-out blinds so you can sleep until noon if you like.
All the appliances are new-ish, there is a tank-less water heater so the showers are never be cold, and an outdoor bathtub shaded by concord grapes :-) The back yard is huge, has a large covered bar, as well as a smaller covered seating area.
If you're looking for a relaxing place you explore Portland from, or just spend a few days relaxing on a couch our eating berries you picked in the back yard this is the perfect place for you!
I've got a pretty busy schedule, but I definitely make myself available for me guests. Depending on what is going on in the house during your stay you might get to join us for some dinner parties, or you might have the place to yourself most of the time.
I just have a couple of house rules:
-Please remove your shoes in the entry way or on the back porch
-No smoking in the house
-If you smoke outside please dispose of your butts in the trash can on the driveway
I'm originally from the North West; and just moved back to Portland after about 15 years of being out and about. I consider myself a home body most of the time, but when the travel bug bites, it bites me hard. Last time that happened I lived at a research base in Antarctica for a year :-)
