The property location is situated close to the town of Mendocino. It is a separate guesthouse from the main farmhouse. The views are of open meadow, forest and apple orchard. Sheep, chickens and numerous species of birds are on the property. Lots of outdoor space; fire pit, redwood fairy ring with hammock, secret tree forts, lawn games, outdoor kitchen with sink, counter and BBQ.. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with young kids).
I travel quite often, especially enjoy long walks (walked the Camino de Santiago in Spain for 6 weeks) I'm a country girl at heart that appreciates what a city has to offer; museums, art galleries, fine dining, music, theater, at least for short periods of time. I start to get a bit unnerved after a week or so of traffic, crammed sidewalks and overcrowded spaces. I can't live away from the ocean and believe San Francisco is the one city I would choose to live in. Florence would be a close second, even if it's a bit far from the coast. Of course, I'd have to win the lottery to afford either. And it would need to be a very large payout. In the meantime, I'm grateful and appreciative of my home and community.
I've lived in Mendocino for 40+ years, taught grammar school, raised two sons, involved in my community, on various non-profit boards and am active physically. I own a small business that I started with a friend and we have steadily grown over the years. I was married for 30 years, I'm a widow and have learned to be more self reliant and directed. I travel with friends and family but am comfortable striking out on my own and meeting new people.
