Leave the flat tidy when they leave. No smoking inside the flat.
Gudbjorg (and Juliette) were good hosts. They allowed us to check in a little earlier and check out a little later and gave us a nice overview of the apartment and Reykjavik and answered any questions we had via email. The apartment became a home away from home. It was very close (1min walk) to Hotel Leifur Eriksson which all tour companies have as a pickup location. The stairs to the bathroom are tricky to navigate in the middle of the night until you are used to it. There is a small market across the street to get some items and there are several great tour books under the TV (in cabinet). I would stay at this place again given the experience and location.
This flat is in the perfect location downtown! It's nice and cozy, and the kitchen was well stocked with everything for cooking a meal. One of the washing machines was broken when we arrived, but we were able to use the other one and a replacement for the broken one was delivered the next day. The beds were very comfy and the sofa pulls out into a bed as well, though we didn't need to use it. Despite being located on a busy street, it was never too noisy. Gauja was great at answering questions before our arrival and made sure that we would be able to find her when we got there to check in. Overall, this was a great stay!
My friend and I stayed at Gauja's place for three nights during our trip to Iceland. The apartment is not really fancy, but it gave us everything we were looking for - two bedrooms, parking, WiFi, and a great location for exploring Reykjavik. It's located on one of the main streets so we could walk to everything in just a few minutes. Also, it was nice and clean so we felt comfortable hanging out when we weren't out exploring. As for the host Gauja, she lives in the building and was around during the days. She left us alone, which was good, but was friendly and helpful when we needed her.
We had a lovely stay at Gudbjorg's place. It was charming, clean and comfortable and the beds were great. I can't imagine a better location in Reykjavik. The street dead ends at the cathedral on the hill. You can wander around and then find your way home by spotting the spire. The free parking spot is a real plus since there is a charge for daytime street parking in the area. I'd enjoying staying there again if I made a return visit to Iceland.
