Hygge (pronounced hue-gah) is a Danish word that loosely translates to coziness in English. Hygge is feeling or mood that comes from making the ordinary more beautiful, meaningful or special. I hope that you will find time during your stay to enjoy the company of your friends and family, cook a meal together, linger over a cup of coffee or spend an evening on the patio.
Come stay in a beautiful 4bd, 2bath house located in Columbia, Missouri. The house is 1900 sq. feet with high ceilings and an abundance of light. An open kitchen-living room floor plan is great for entertaining or large families gatherings.
A personal door code will be set for you on your arrival day so you may check in as soon as you are in town.
This is my primary residence, so you will find personal items within the home. This is not a rental unit or model home. You will find well-loved and cherished pieces within the home. Please treat them with care. You may use all areas of the home with the exception of the garage and the master closet. You are welcome to park your cars in the driveway and/or on the street in front of the house.
I will not be at the home during your stay (and don't worry, my pets are going with me), but I will be in the neighborhood should you need anything. Please let me know when you arrive so I can meet you and answer any questions you may have.
The house may not be safe for very young children. There are not safety latches on cabinet doors or plugs for electrical outlets. Please contact me to discuss your children's' safety needs.
After 20 years in the business world, I left to follow my true passions. I have a BS in Architectural Studies-Interior Design. I am currently writing my thesis for a MS in Architectural Studies-Environment and Behavior at MU. My current research interests are hospice care and long-term care environments. In my free time, I love to scour flea markets, antique malls and estate sales. I am always on the lookout for mid-century modern furniture.
I passionately believe that the environments we live in create meaning in our lives. I hope you will come and stay in my home and enjoy the time with your friends and family.
