Okay, so usually, a stay in LA can be "fine", "close to everything", "enjoyed it!", "host was friendly". Staying in Gary's home was an exceptional experience -- envigorating to the senses, mind opening about the creativity in Los Angeles, and the best possible stay one could ask to have. I spent four days with Gary, his housemate, dog and cat, and found rare qualities in everything and everyone. The house itself is very welcoming, the room is very quiet, the bed is very comfortable, top notch quality. Gary provided open drawers for clothing, WIFI, towels, linens, and even vacuumed before my arrival . The cat and dog are very friendly and hang outside on the wonderful porch most of the time. The kitchen is very comfortable for cooking, hanging out, and storing groceries. They even puled out the barbecue one night as we did a collaboration in the kitchen. The parking was generous. I had choices of either the driveway or the street. There was ample street parking, but late at night you might need to circle the area to find a spot. The home is situated on a hill that gets ocean breezes and views of Century City and the Santa Monica Mountains. You are super close to everywhere great in LA, either freeway or street. If you love music, writing, poetry, and learning about LA from people who are making their mark, then you will enjoy the conversations as an added bonus. Great hosts, smooth transaction, five stars, highly recommend Gary and his home!
