In order to appreciate this place, you have to first understand that it is in a renovated area of their basement. If you expect that, you'll be pleasantly surprised- if you don't, you'll be disappointed. We did find it to have a few resident spiders, who were nice guests and left us alone. Again, it's a basement, basements have spiders, so this was not unexpected or unreasonable. The pictures are an accurate representation of the space, it has a very cosy, bohemian vibe, there are lamps and draped fabric everywhere. They had some heaters for us to use if we were cold, but it was pleasantly warm the whole time we were there. David and Susan seemed like lovely people- we wish we had gotten to spend more time with them but we were pretty much only at the airbnb to sleep, so the timing never worked out. The space is pretty large, but I think this airbnb is probably best suited for when you have places to go and things to do, not an open-ended trip where you might end up spending a lot of time in the airbnb. That said, it's very functional for a 'private room'- it has it's own entrance, they had a little kitchenette area with a coffee machine, a microwave and some supplies, though we didn't try it out. Before we arrived they set up a fire for us, ready to go when we arrived, however our weekend ended up being so crazy we didn't even get to try it, which I'm still bummed about! We slept on the full sized bed in the bedroom, and it was creaky, but clean and comfortable. They gifted us a commemorative Derby juice glass, since we stayed with them over Derby weekend, which was sweet and unexpected. All in all, a good trip and a cost-effective and nice place to sleep.
