Findlater castle is 10 minutes away by car. Nearby is Sandend beach which is a beautiful haven on Moray coastline. Portsoy and Banff are closeby for visitors who love the coastal villages. The nearest distillery is just 4k away which is Knockdhu established in late 1800s. Private tours are welcome here and we are happy to arrange. There is a vast array of history at Rhynie, nr Huntly where a Pict archeological site is being developed. Findlater castle was first on land register in 1200 and interesting for those who like Norse history. Enjoy closeby Cullen which is split into 2 villages with golf and seaside joy! visit the popular ice cream shop and see dolpins along this coast. Spey bay Dolphin centre must be next for this. Then along to Elgin to visit Spynie palace and not forgetting Findhorn nature reserve for a beautiful day out kayaking, canoeing or dinghy sailing. There are lovely pubs offering great food here for a sunny evening sundowner. Brodie & Cawdor castle and visitor centres are a little further. A week recommended for seeing all these amazing sites.
