You’ll love my place because of the large space, convenient location, and comforts it provides. Wifi, washer/dryer, equipped kitchen with full fridge and dishwasher, and small back patio.
The apartment is the street level floor (about 1000 sq ft) in a townhouse in the Kalorama Triangle/Adams Morgan neighborhood. The apartment has a private entrance and a small back patio. There are windows in each room and skylights in the entry foyer and kitchen; the front of the apartment gets natural light but the Queen bedroom does not. The galley-style kitchen has a gas stove/oven, small dishwasher, full sized refrigerator/freezer, toaster, microwave, coffee maker, and is stocked with dishes, glasses, mugs, utensils and some pots, pans, and bakeware. Beyond the kitchen is the stacked washer and dryer, and door to the small back patio. The patio has a small table with chairs. The spacious, carpeted living area includes a dining table with six chairs, a L-shaped sofa, arm chair, coffee tables, and TV (with basic RCN cable) on a console. In the hall from the living room to the bedrooms, there is a desk with two office chairs and book shelf. The first bedroom has two twin beds, bedside table and lights, and desk/table with chairs. The second bedroom has a queen bed, bureau, bedside tables and lights. There is one closet in the hallway for both bedrooms to share. There is a iron, ironing board, laundry basket, extra blankets, and towels stored in the closet. The one bathroom has a shower (no bath) and there is both a cabinet above the toilet and shelves next to the sink to place toiletries. There is wifi in the apartment but the bedrooms do get a weaker signal. Bed linens and towels are provided.
We have locked one closet and a storage area in the front of the apartment as these areas contain our personal items. We also ask that guests do not enter the utility/furnace room off of the kitchen. Otherwise, all parts of the apartment are intended for guests' use.
We are happy to answer any questions that you have and to make recommendations for your visit. We have a binder for guests in the entryway counter with information on the apartment and the neighborhood. Please do not hesitate to contact either of us - Anne or Carlos. We live on the floors above the apartment with our two teen-aged children and dog.
Washington, DC is a humid place in the summer months especially and the apartment can get humid so we provide a dehumidifier for guests to use to keep the climate comfortable and to keep mustiness at bay. Once the dehumidifier fills with water, the container needs to be removed, emptied and replaced so that it can continue de-humidifying.
