Nice little cabin with lots of room. Basic amenities and it's a bargain for the isolation if that's what you are looking for. Tasarte is a great little town with nice locals. Playa de Tasarte is a good get away from the tourism that dominates the other dry sides of the islands. Hiking is good in the area. I would come back with friends if we planned on hiking lots and getting a boat to take us to Guygu beach.
Clean, spacious and delightfully quiet and away from any other people. Good beds, basic but sufficient kitchen and phone connection often enough to stay in touch. A great place to relax and watch the sun cross the sky. Some reviews praise the Olivia's restaurant, a 20 minute walk down the road on the beach but our experience there was not so good. Fifty minute wait for food to arrive and then it was decidedly mediocre. we went back a second time for drinks and to see if things looked better but the coffee was lousy and my girlfriend said her sangria was the poorest she'd ever been offered (red wine & seven up - nothing else added). (the bottled beer was ok!) But don't let that, or the beach being of large pebbles and not sand put you off Ramon's place!
Nice place to be away from everything, very calm. Near the sea (20 min walk). The beach is beautifull and isolated. Rustical house but where you can find everything you need. Nevertheless, the exteriors and the house need some refreshments. We spent good time during our week at Ramòn's house.
Beautiful house for expats! Quiet, remote place surrounded with mountains, no crowds of tourists and beach bars, the only nice seafood restaurant on the beach, perfect. It was quite hard to drive around, but really worth it! The house is really nice, authentic, clean, we had great holidays there, didn't meet the host, but we had all the info and comunication we needed. Thanks one more time! ;)
We missed our original flights on 12 December and Ramon was very understanding when we rescheduled to 14 December. We were then delayed at airport picking up car (NB don't recommend this - better to transfer to a pension in Puerto Mogan for one night and get car locally as airport queues take hours), however Ramon held on for us and we were given a very warm welcome - with a lovely big bowl of local fruits on arrival at the finca. Ramon explained everything clearly and when we had some problems later on with water/shower - he resolved this as soon as possible. I would recommend this property for those wishing to get away from the hustle/bustle of the tourist areas - great for a group of up to 6 friends/family (but not for children under 12) who want to take a walk on the wild side! Although I'd recommend a car as a prerequisite - there is one bus per day from Puerto Mogan (no 86 @ 13.00) and I found it was okay to hitchhike when car was unavailable - as locals are very friendly/helpful. Nearest shop is Spar in Tasarte pueblo - 2 hour walk up mountain! Olivias restaurant at beach (15 min walk) is excellent - with traditional Canarian seafood and paella etc - recommend 1/2 portion of fresh white tuna at E4.50 - an absolute bargain! Also discovered a small bodega in playa Tasarte - directly opposite BlaBlaBla hostel - 5mins follow road round till you reach a tiny plaza and enjoy a mouthwatering selection of local dishes such as goat/pork and fish - yum yum - E20 for three courses and bottle of wine. This is a very special place to stay - the only sounds are the chickens crowing at dawn/dusk and the crickets at night - would be ideal for a PHD student writing up their thesis or a bunch of friends who want to explore this beautiful, natural, protected environment. When the skies are clear you will have the most wonderful sunsets and views of the milky way - absolute magic!
