Nestled Among Fragrant Pinons on 3 Acres
Nestled Among Fragrant Pinons on 3 Acres

Very private home on 3 fenced acres is great for families or the solitary traveler and bring your big furry friends! Enjoy country living while being very close to world class restaurants, galleries, museums, 17 minutes to the Plaza, 30 min to the ski slopes, remote mountain hiking, fabulous fishing, take memorable historical day trips and you have the best of both worlds. Recently fully remodeled, it contains new appliances, fixtures, service ware along with all the traditional Santa Fe style.

Relax and feel as though you are living outside when you are inside because of the endless windows. It is warm in winter with a Catalytic Converter Blaze King Wood Burning Stove in the Solarium Bedroom, wood stove in the middle bedroom and new energy efficient baseboards in the other rooms. Because of the Artisan-worked Venetian plastered walls and interior insulation as well as max insulation for the exterior walls it stays warm and toasty in the winter. In the summer it is cool and breezy with so many windows, 5 ceiling fans throughout, and mostly constant mountain breezes. Remember a sweater for summer evenings though when it is usually chilly.
Every room, the front deck and the outside seating areas make it great for entertaining, playing games with the kids or reading a book and just relaxing to the gentle swoosh of the pines. Depending on the time of year you visit, various natural plants will be in bloom and of course, in the months from Dec-April it is mostly a winter wonderland, perfect for skiers since it is 30 min to Santa Fe Skiing and about an hour and a half to Taos ski basin.
All-wheel or 4x4 drive is the best plan for the property as the snow can pile up to several feet from time to time here in the foothills of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains even when downtown Santa Fe (15 min away) is nearly dry!
Absolutely, No Smoking inside and fire-cautious if done outside and always clean after yourself. Events only with prior approval of owner.

Detailed directions will provided as your stay approaches.
The whole property including storage shed for tack, ski or other equipment is available to you. Please do explore! It is wilderness so use appropriate caution. Small dogs should be kept under watchful eye - coyotes are in the neighborhood along with other predators. The cactus this desert is known for, has both beautiful bountiful blooms in the spring/summer and miserable thorny stickers year around. Wear proper footwear when walking off the road that circles the property.

I will try my best to make your stay memorable and enjoyable. I leave you to enjoy your privacy. In fact, you probably won't ever see me. But don't worry! Should you find you need anything to improve your visit, I will be right there to assist.

Please do bring your big dogs! We have a Great Pyrenees dog and she loves it when we are there!! The fences are not high enough to keep a jumper from getting over, though, so be sure you are aware and take precautions to keep your pet secure! You don't want her/him to get lost! Everyone on nearby horse ranches has dogs so you and your dogs will be right at home. Also, the floors inside are brick and made for dogs!

It was a lovely space to spend two weeks in...the house feels enomous with large windows showing the lovely grove of pinon trees. The house is attractively decorated with luxerious leather couches. Everytime I set foot out the door there was a pleasant earthy freshness. The home is sited with privacy and quiet and yet easy immediate access to grocery store, services, restaurants in the Elderado community. Fifteen minutes is all it takes to get to downtown Santa Fe. With proximity to I-25 you can easily take daytrips north/south to Taos, or Alburquerque.

Even better than we imagined - if you want peace & quiet, this is the place for you! Oh it is an artist's/nature lover's dream! Absolutely gorgeous environment, off the main road, you can see every star in the sky, and see some amazing desert wildlife (don't worry, though we didn't see a single snake or scorpion! Think more lizards, birds, and bunnies). You feel totally alone, but are just a quick 15 minute drive from town (I recommend taking the old Vegas highway instead of the interstate, as it takes about the same time and is SO pretty!). The house is super cool - brings the outdoors inside with double open doors and lots of windows. Spent the night in the king bed in the sunroom because I just had to take in the view! The kitchen was impeccable and fully stocked - even with spices and condiments! The bathroom jacuzzi tub was an extra treat. Wifi and TV both worked great - although I could see doing a little spa retreat up there and never using either and just blissing out! Our host was absolutely gracious - working with us for an early check/-in which was super helpful as we were on a road trip - and answered all of our questions promptly. The directions didn't match up with us coming from the north, but our GPS got us there no problem. Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer - my husband fell ill so we left early to get him home more quickly - but we are already talking about returning!! If you are seeking a little break from the world, but still want to be close to beautiful Santa Fe - look no further!! You are going to LOVE it!!
Wow! Bailey, your review is much appreciated and makes all my hard work more than worth it! I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay!

Lovely house in a beautiful location.

We really enjoyed our stay, and loved the location: a short drive to Santa Fe, peaceful, ample space for our dog to stretch his legs. There are a couple of good restaurants and groceries within a couple of miles. It was a great spot for our family to spend a couple of days during a cross country drive.

Perfect setting! The place to go to collect your thoughts and relax.

Really nice scenic property maybe a 1/4 mile off the main road for a nice quiet stay. Really great kitchen, internet, and space to hang out. We never turned on the TV so can't comment. Rooms are really nice and beds are comfortable.

Robin's place was perfect for our family. There were comfortable beds, light-filled rooms, and plenty of room to cook and eat together. The kids loved exploring among the pinion pines. We sat on the porch nearly every night of our stay, enjoying the quiet and the cool night air. Robin was always quick to respond to questions. The location was also great for us - fifteen minutes or so to Santa Fe, and not far from the Pecos River. I would highly recommend Robin's place!

Hello. I love nature and live three miles up a dirt road surrounded by the Santa Fe National Forest in the mountains of New Mexico. This is about as far away from Wayne, NJ, where I grew up, as I can be. I have a very independent spirit which is why I've spent most of my life …
