Very well-located in the old town. Roof terrace was the main reason for us choosing this place - we wanted to sunbathe in the day and go out in the night. Good kitchen with good full sized fridge/freezer. Francesca maintained contact with us before arrival and met us. She left some food items and a bottle of water for us.
The property is a small building built on top of the roof. It comprises a large living room/bedroom with a couch, bed and dining table as well as good wardrobe space. It could probably do with more hangers inside the wardrobe, though we did stay for 7 nights so maybe we had more clothes than the typical traveller here.
Air conditioning is provided by one unit in the living/bedroom. It worked well. Wifi is good and reliable.
Francesca lives on the roof too, in another small building. She has lots of cats! One of them was friendly and came to visit us once or twice :)
The roof is accessed through a very small, steep enclosed staircase. This would be a major problem for disabled travellers.
There is a washing machine and detergent etc in a shed to the side of the studio on the roof. We saw this mentioned on the airbnb website so assumed it was ok to use. However Francesca did not tell us anything about the washing machine, but we were able to make it work and use it.
The shower is very small. It has a large shower curtain instead of doors. The curtain made the shower feel smaller as it took up space inside the shower. Also there is nowhere to 'hang' the shower head and no 'shelf' inside the shower for toiletries. Water temperature and pressure were good.
The bed is poor. It seemed to be two single metal camp-style beds pushed next to each other, with a double foam mattress placed on top. The metal bars of the single beds made an uncomfortable bump in the middle where they met. Not conducive to a romantic evening...!
Finally our main 'dislike' was the awful smell created by the numerous rubbish bags left on top of the roof in Francesca's area of the roof. We spent a lot of time sat on the roof enjoying the sun (which we see very little of in England!) and every now and then a very strong 'whiff' would drift over. This was the worst when Francesca had cleaned her cat litter trays. The smell of dirty cat litter in the rubbish bags just metres from where we were sitting was very bad.
Overall we thought this place was OK
