Alpine Creek Cottage was originally built in the 1920's with a small room added in the 1940's. It is a quaint little cottage tucked right up against Alpine Creek. Alpine Creek runs through Alpine and serves as a thoroughfare for wildlife, including deer, javelin and fox. All of which we have spotted on many occasions. So an appreciation for wildlife is a good thing if you are considering booking this room.
After nearly two decades of disuse we have restored the Cottage, taking care to keep as much of the original building intact and using recycled materials where possible. There is a wrap around porch and backyard with fire pit and horseshoes in a natural, creek side setting.
The Cottage has two private bedrooms, each with private bath and entrances. Room 1 (pictured in this listing) includes a simple, private, kitchen area which serves as a nice sitting room with views to the West. The kitchen has a coffee maker, tea kettle, mini fridge, and microwave. It is not set up for cooking, but there are many great restaurants within walking distance, and the local grocery store is half a block away. There is always plenty of tea and locally sourced coffee in the kitchen.
Check in and check out are very simple and late check ins are not a problem. We can leave a key. We like to respect your privacy, so unless you need us, just make yourself at home.
This is for the ladies...nothing is more heart breaking or disappointing than discovering makeup and mascara on our hand towels, towels and cotton pillow cases. Makeup is not easy to get out of fabric and requires harsh chemicals to remove it. If it's waterproof mascara, it won't budge. Permanent stain. Please take the extra step of using the makeup remover sheets provided to remove your makeup instead of using the towels. We would reeeeeeeealy appreciate it!
I have a passion for travel and exploring new places. I especially love the opportunity to meet new people and I have a great affinity for diversity and the multicultural aspect of traveling the globe. I have learned that although we come from many different cultural, religious, and economic backgrounds, we are all part of one big community. It is the same wherever I travel. We all aspire toward love, prosperity, health, happiness, beauty, inspiration and in most cases, peace. People are generally, awesome! I am happy to provide a lovely space for fellow travelers to call home as they explore what I consider to be one of the coolest spots in the world. The Big Bend and Davis Mountains areas of Texas. Although I mostly leave guests alone for privacy sake, I am always available for a chat or a tasty beverage. I hadn't anticipated how much I would enjoy meeting and sharing meals and beverages with guests. Has been a huge bonus!
Cheers to life's little pleasures!
