Trevenna has a large and very cosy bedroom, with a king size bed, and stable door providing direct access to the enclosed garden. Also a TV with built in DVD player and an en-suite with separate shower and bath, Egyptian cotton towels and bathrobes, mirrored cabinet with light sensor as well as toothbrush/shaver charger.

The kitchen, sitting room and dining area is an open plan design. The kitchen is fully equipped (incl. cooker, grill, induction-hob, microwave, washer/dryer, fridge/freezer). There is a television with integrated DVD player and radio, an extensive DVD library, a portable BOSE SoundLink Mini Bluetooth Speaker, with great sound quality (simply pair your device for all your favourite music!), a selection of games, a multi-fuel stove, comfortable sofa and armchair.

French doors lead onto the spacious furnished patio and garden. The secluded peaceful garden has plenty of room for games or to simply relax. You’ll find fresh herbs; rosemary, sage and thyme growing between the roses along the south facing garden wall.

LOCATION
Trevenna Cottage is in a secluded location, at least 1½ miles (30-40 minute walk) from Pelynt, the nearest village. There is a local bus service from Pelynt. We recommend that our guests use a car when staying with us.

SHOPPING
In Pelynt village (1½ miles) you’ll find two very good grocery shops, both with convenient parking in front of the door. Boxall’s Spar Shop and Post Office is in the centre of the village, it sells a wide range of chilled and organic produce, including local cheeses, hams, lots of other delicatessen products, groceries, fresh fruit and vegetables, fresh herbs, toiletries, newspapers, magazines, wines, spirits, hot snacks and stationery. It also has a cash machine. Opening times are Monday to Saturday 7.30 am until 9pm and Sunday 9am until 6pm.
Pelynt Stores & O’Keeffe’s Traditional Family Butchers, is just opposite the church, behind the Old School. It has an excellent family run butchers (delicious, self made, award winning sausages!) and stocks a wide range of groceries, fresh fruit and vegetables, hot snacks, beers and wines etc. Opening times are Monday to Saturday 5am until 7pm and Sunday 8am until 6pm.
Opening times for both stores can vary over Public Holidays.
You'll also find various excellent shopping opportunities in Looe (6 miles). For great fresh fish and seafood direct from the quay go to Pengellys Fish Market on Buller Quay (which leads from the short stay car park). Also on Buller Quay is the farm shop Quayside Fresh, selling a great range of local farm fresh vegetables, salad and fruits as well as dairy produce, bread, biscuits, tinned goods, drinks, a wide range of groceries and they also have a Warrens Butchers selling quality local meats, sausages, etc.
Also in Looe you’ll find two Co-Op stores, bakers, Boots Chemist, Post Office and banks.
Supermarkets: There is a Morrisons supermarket in Liskeard (7½ miles) , ASDA and Sainsbury’s in Bodmin (14 miles) and an excellent Waitrose in Saltash (18 miles).
For a wide range of quality international wines we recommend Waitrose and Morrisons.

DOGS
Well behaved pets are welcome STRICTLY BY PRIOR ARRANGEMENT ONLY!!
There is a surcharge of £20 per dog, per stay. Maximum 2 dogs.
Please ask us when booking if you would like to bring a canine friend.
Dogs are not permitted in the bedroom, bathroom or on any of the furniture.
Please bring bedding, bowls and towels etc for your pet.
We ask that you NEVER, under any circumstances, leave dogs alone in the cottage or garden whilst you are out or allow them to be noisy or annoy other guests.
REMEMBER: This is a farming area and there is livestock in the neighbouring fields; DO NOT allow your dog out on its own, and do not allow it to harass the animals.
CLEAR UP thoroughly after your dogs, including poop-scooping the garden and disposing of waste appropriately; securely tied in a plastic bag.

MULTI FUEL STOVE
If you would like we can organise logs, coal, kindling and firelighters for your arrival. The cost is £20, which includes 1 bag of house coal, 1 bag of logs, 1 bag of kindling and firelighters. If you need further supplies you can buy them from both local shops in Pelynt village and most local petrol stations, prices are generally higher at the petrol stations. Be sure the logs and coal you buy are suitable for a multi-fuel stove!
Please let us know when booking if you would like us to organise your stove.
If using the multi-fuel stove please BE SURE to read the section ‘Multi-Fuel Stove...’ in the Welcome Manual in your cottage. The stove should only be stocked with seasoned logs and certain coals: please check! No other materials should be used/burnt in the stove!

THE KITCHEN
We love cooking! Time together on holiday in the kitchen with friends, music and a bottle of wine, cooking with the family, or preparing a romantic dinner for two is great fun, and we try to support that with a well equipped and stocked kitchen and a selection of recipe books. We keep a small larder of cooking basics, such as herbs, spices, salt, peppercorns, olive oil, vinegar, stock cubes, flour, sugar etc, as well as supplies such as tea, coffee, freezer bags, foil, grease proof paper, cling film and cleaning items. All the things you need on a self-catering holiday but don't necessarily want to bring with you or buy and carry home. 
We do not charge for this, and cannot guarantee these items will definitely be available, everything is simply what we and our guests buy and leave for others to enjoy, please feel free to use the store and add to it. If we all in someway replenish what we use, donate a replacement, or simply add something else to the larder, we can all enjoy the benefit now and next time!

Trevenna is our home, we ask that you treat it with respect, taking care to leave it in the condition in which you would hope to find it. For everyone’s safety, comfort and enjoyment please take time to read and abide by these following House Rules & Safety Notes. Thank you!
• Check-In after 16:00 / Check-Out before 10:00
• The cleaning fee covers general house cleaning and laundry costs. Please leave the cottage in a neat and tidy condition, wash, dry and put away all dishes, cookware and glasses. To avoid a deduction from your deposit to cover extra cleaning costs we politely ask that you follow these guidelines.
• Report any damage or breakages before checking out.
• No naked flames, candles, tea lights etc.
• Do not store matches, lighters, kindling, firelighters and coal too close to the multi-fuel stove.
• TAKE CARE WITH CHILDREN: There are matches to light the stove by the fireplace and/or in the drawers. Always use the fire guard provided
• You will find both a fire extinguisher and a fire blanket by the entrance.
• Please read notice IN CASE OF FIRE displayed on the wall.
• NO SMOKING Evidence of smoking or damage from cigarettes will result in a 100% deposit forfeit.
• Do not leave cigarette ends in the garden.

• Please eject and return all DVDs to their protective cases after use.
• Many of the games contain counters, dice, figures etc (warning: some can be dangerous for small children), please take care of the game pieces, supervise children, and ensure everything is placed correctly back in the appropriate box so other guests can enjoy them without disappointment.
• The heated towel rail is on constantly when the central heating is on, it is very hot.
• DO NOT COVER THE RADIATORS WITH ANYTHING! A laundry stand and washing line are provided.
• Remember to turn the radiators off when going out and checking out. Leaving the bathroom and bedroom doors open enables the heat from the towel rail to circulate.
• Please make sure BOTH doors are securely locked when going out.
• Always keep children and dogs away from the boiler area outside the bathroom window.
• Always leave the door key in the lock when inside the cottage in case of emergency.
• Always leave the key in the Key Safe when going out: we may need access in an emergency.
• The use of Trevenna Cottage and grounds is entirely at the users’ risk. We take no responsibility for any injuries, damages or loss to you, your car, baggage or personal belongings incurred whilst staying at our cottages.
• Cottages are very prone to damp and need to be aired daily. Please open all the windows and doors every day in the morning for at least 10 mins after showering to allow fresh air to circulate through the cottage. There is an electronic vent in the bathroom which remains on after the light is switched off to remove damp air, but please also open the window and leave the bathroom door open after showering/bathing. Please help us to avoid damp setting in - Thank you!!
• Always leave the key in the Key-Safe when going out. We may need access in an emergency, and you do not want to lose it!!

We would highly recommend charming Trevenna Cottage! The cottage itself is beautifully decorated, very well appointed, white-glove clean, and is located in a magical area. The bed and the sitting room furniture were delightfully comfortable. It was even better than we had hoped for. Perfect! Ian recommended The Plough in Duloe, and we would do the same. The food was delicious and the staff very helpful and friendly. We would return to Trevenna in a heart beat and hope that we have the opportunity to do so soon. Thanks Ian for sharing your gorgeous home.

Ian has great taste and it is obvious that he has gone to a great deal of effort to make the stay at the cottage a lasting experience. We took country walks and found large empty pastures where we could hike to the back of nowhere. The kitchen is well equipped, email worked, parking was easy and I expect we will be going back.. and we are from California !! The Jubilee in Pelynt is a great pub/restaurant where you can lift a pint with the locals. Thanks Ian.

Trevenna is a great little cottage in a great location. It's off the beaten track down deep sunken lanes in the beautiful Cornish countryside. It's easy to find if you follow Ian's directions. The cottage was beautifully decorated, comfortable, clean and we had everything we needed for our stay. It is very quiet and peaceful. We did Ian's lovely recommended walk from Lantic Bay to Polrun then ferry to Fowey. For good coffee, Daisy's in Looe is recommended.

Trevanna cottage is an absolute delight! Beautifully presented, clean, and well equipped. The attention to detail is notable, with clear instructions on everything you could think you might need. Also there was a very appreciated collection of welcome snacks, with all the essentials you might need after travelling. Both Ian and Derek (his brother who lives locally) were very attentive during the stay, and we were left with no doubt that if we'd had any difficulty it would have been managed immediately. The cottage is in a very secluded spot, which makes for a lovely quiet and romantic stay. Thank you Ian and Derek.

There is a Guest Manual in Trevenna full of useful information about the cottage itself and local tips: shopping, dining, etc. It should answer any questions you may have to help you make the most of your stay. It also contains our House Rules, please take the time to read through them, thanks!

There is also an illustrated guide book we have written for our guests entitled ‘Our Cornwall’. It contains a history of the hamlet and information about our favourite places to visit, points of interest, suggestions for walks, beaches, etc. Have a browse through it, I hope it provides some inspiration to explore! Please keep the protective cover on when you are not using it, thank you.

We are also on hand via email or telephone should you need us. Otherwise we will leave you in peace, undisturbed to enjoy a cosy cottage and explore its charming surroundings.

Hi Everyone!

I am originally from south east Cornwall where our cottages are situated and currently based in Berlin, Germany since 1995, but miss Cornwall's beautiful rolling green hills, cliffs, beaches, warm climate, humour, friendliness, great seafood, friends and family. Can't be there all the time due to work commitments so, with the help of my brother Derek and our great local team in Cornwall, we have been letting out three cottages Trengrove, Trevenna and The Boathouse since 2013. We are constantly making improvements and upgrading. We have installed a new central heating and hot water system throughout both Trengrove and Trevenna, as well as multi-fuel stoves (for logs and coal) in both cottages, creating a cosy cottage atmosphere, especially for winter evenings by the fire!

Trengrove has been completely redecorated including a new ensuite in one of the double bedrooms, a remodelled modern family bathroom downstairs, new furniture and kitchen appliances, and HDTVs with DVD/radio in all the bedrooms. As well us USB charging sockets for your phones, iPads, etc next to the beds! We have also had locally hand made, iroko wood, double glazed, sash windows and a matching front door installed.

Trevenna had a full renovation in 2015; bespoke fitted kitchen, with all new appliances, remodelled bedroom with locally handmade furniture and king size bed, a contemporary ensuite bathroom, complete new lighting, HD TVs with DVD/radio in the sitting room and bedroom, new flooring throughout the whole cottage, as well as power points with USB chargers! Trevenna’s also recently been fitted (April 2017) with new double glazed sash windows, french doors and a stable door to the garden from the bedroom, all also handmade locally from iroko wood.

The Boathouse was completely redecorated in 2015 too, including the addition of a new sofa with matching footstool and cushions, extra shelving in the kitchen and bathroom, new coffee table and rug, and in response to our guests’ requests a microwave oven.

We love our cottages, Trengrove's and Trevenna's peaceful seclusion in the hamlet, the gardens, and idyllic location. And the contrast of The Boathouse being in the bustling heart of ancient Looe with the beach, pier, harbour, fishing quay, restaurants, pubs and amenities a minute’s stroll from the front door.

When we can't be there we're delighted to know our guests are enjoying the cottages. It's a lot of fun being a host, I really enjoy the contact with all our guests, answering their questions, passing on local tips and chatting. Everyone has been great, we've had visitors from all over the world, and I never imagined hosting could be so enjoyable. And they have given us lots of useful feedback and fantastically positive reviews; Thank you all!
