Miriam's place was in the perfect location for us as we explored South Holland. Our room was clean, beautifully decorated and quite private. The house was close to all the areas we wanted to see. Miriam was an excellent host, she provided us with many recommendations for eating and places to see as well as making us delicious breakfasts! We had a great stay :)
My two teenage children, a boy and a girl, and me were visiting my brother and family who were staying in a beach house resort in Hook van Holland. As we had not been able to book on the beach I had looked for a lovely place for me and the children to come home to in the evening and have breakfast in the morning. After some searching on Airbnb which seemed to obstinately direct me to locations near The Hague I found this historic house in Honselerdijk. It seemed to have been done up lovingly and tastefully and with a touch of nostalgia. Apart from the interior I was also attracted by the charmed look of the garden that seemed to surround the place. We were not to be disappointed. Upon arrival, Miriam, the host, received us warmly and cheerfully and quickly showed us our rooms, a master bedroom elegantly decorated in black and white furnished beautifully with a veiled double bed. The guest also has the luxury of a fluffy black bath robe to move between bed and bath room. The smaller children's room a bit further down the corridor was also equipped with bath robes and beds covered in lush layers of beautiful white duvets and blankets. The bathroom was simple, spacious and tasteful in black and white with fixtures that were old fashioned in appearance but perfectly functional and to add to the comfort, soap shampoo and conditioner were all there for us to use. Breakfast in the big dining kitchen with the characteristic mix of modern and historic features was plentiful and served at the lovingly decorated large kitchen table. The organisation of breakfast was casual and friendly with Miriam happy to chat but also leaving us to ourselves. Coffee from her Retro-Percolator was delicious and the perfect start to the day. It was almost a shame to not spend more time there and explore some of the attractive and well selected places for activities or dining out that Miriam has put together in a folder. But we did have a great time and felt almost as comfortable as in a five-star hotel.
Staying at Miriam's place was the best Airbnb experience I have ever had. Her home is lovely, very clean and cozy and beautifully decorated. The garden in the back is lush and quiet, lots of places to sit and enjoy the sunshine and flowers. The rain shower in the bathroom was great, and looks out into the garden. I kept using the word "fairytale" to describe it to friends. Beyond the space being wonderful, Miriam is an exceptional host. When we arrived she set out several juices and mint water for us to enjoy in the garden. Before bed, she made a pitcher of tea and set out our cups with honey so we could have a calming tea time before bed. And in the morning she made us poffertjes, the little Dutch pancakes. She thinks of every detail and is so helpful and accommodating. I really loved being in that space and felt so welcomed and cared for by Miriam. I can't recommend her highly enough; exactly as the ad says you will find a tranquil and charming oasis!
Miriam is a great hostess! She was very kind to us. She surprised us with delicious breakfast and quite detailed map of places to visit. The apartment is placed on a quiet street, close to the beach and the Hague. The place is very clean and the interior as well as the garden are magnicifent. Strongly recommend!
