The Villa Merida is a Historic Listed Building, constructed in the late 1800’s it fell into disrepair, before being restored to it’s original state in the early 1990’s. The current owners engaged in two extensive renovations (the last one earning a Best Historic Restoration from Architectural Digest Mexico in 2013.)
The front of the property is built around beautiful courtyard pool area. The rear part of the property has a magnificent pool area, overlooked by an upper level balcony and peaceful verand.
The rear of the property features a large contemprary looking into a rear garden jungle area and pool.
There are multiple rooms and seating areas throughout the property, all of which are available for guests to use.
Guests receive front door and room keys on arrival and come and go as they please.
All common areas of the property, including the pool and the kitchen are available to guests.
We ask that guests are considerate of other guests’ space, and keep noise in the common areas close to the bedrooms to a minimum after 10:00pm Please refrain from pool use after 10:00pm.

Merida is the safest city in Mexico, walking around this city by day or night is very safe. Hailing taxis on the street is safe. Asking a local for directions is safe.
The Yucatecans are the friendliest people in Mexico (with all due to respect to our other Mexican friends), they are a warm and welcoming people, whether you are walking around Merida or exploring the countryside.
Merida is a great place to base out of as you explore the Yucatan’s marvels, from the great Mayan ruins to the Haciendas, from the beaches to the underground cenotes.
Yes there are mosquitos in Merida, the hotel is regularly sprayed for mosquitos and all the pools contain fish that prey on the eggs.
